Rose McGowan has long been known for both her acting talent and her beauty, but on Wednesday's episode of 'Law & Order: SVU,' the actress showed off a dramatically different look (see photo at far left). In 2007, McGowan was injured in a car accident that left her with a deep cut on her face, for which she has admitted to undergoing plastic surgery.
"I didn't realize I was hurt until I put my hand to my face and felt the flap of skin. My glasses had sliced me under my eye," she said following the incident.
While the accident and subsequent surgery left her with a barely visible scar beneath her right eye, by the time she was back on the big screen in 'Grindhouse' that same year, her face looked noticeably different, causing many to speculate she had more than just reconstructive work done.
Dr. Jennifer Walden, a Manhattan plastic surgeon who has not treated McGowan, believes that the actress has had a number of procedures since her turn in the Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino-directed double feature that have led to her "done" look.
"The lower lid's pulling down a bit," Walden tells PopEater. "It's a possibility that she had eyelid surgery and is blaming her lower lid drooping on having cut her eye."

Although she is still pretty, she had a softer look before the surgery. Now her skin looks too tight. I don't think she blinked during the entire SVU episode.

Sure you can recognize her. And, yes - she allegedly had a car crash that required surgery, but it's obvious that there have been multiple plastic surgeries. I actually had SUV on mute while doing something else. During the last scene of the episode I looked and and saw Rose McGowan and literally gasped. She was one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood. Now her face looks immobile and about 10 years older. Her mouth is such that her smile looks like a grimace. It is truly a shame.

One thing I will never understand is why women like huge lips. To me, if a woman has extra thin lips, a little enhancement is fine. But, when the lips are normal... why get them "puffed up?"
I know Angelina Jolie made popular the huge lips concept, men liked it... so other actresses noticed and followed suit.
Now we see these wonderful beautiful actresses in movies and TV shows, with weird bumps on their lips, a testimony of where the filler injections had gone in.
Myself, when I see that I loose track of the plot and the only thing I focus is on the pricked puffy lips. Not a sensual thought, but a disgusted though of how terrible this fad is.
I saw SVU, and couldn't tell if Rose looked differently, because I had never seen her before, but it was obvious her lips were done and her top eyelids were terribly done also.
She pucked her lips so much on the show that reminded me of a blood sucking leech, or that man-sized tape worm on X-Files.
I don't condemn plastic surgery, but I do bad jobs. She definitely needs a better doctor.

I don't really know too much about her, but I do know that this actress' mouth and face hardly moved throughout the entire episode. It was pretty noticeable, and I was thinking the whole time, what is wrong with this picture? The only time her mouth actually moved was when she threw herself at her brother/boyfriend to give him a big kiss, and her mouth was wide open....yeeeeew....

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought this! If not for her voice, I wouldn't have recognized her either. Her nose, her eyes, her lips...everything looked different. Her skin was pulled so tightly she couldn't even properly emote in the final scene!

Having watched Rose on Charmed for a few years, I got used to her "old" face. She was much more attractive and animated than she appeared in SVU. I recognized her - but barely. Especially her mouth & eyes. It's a shame about her car accident, but her surgeon(s) have done her a real disservice.

I think her mouth looked like the Joker. Such a shame for such a gorgeous woman. She looked so good and natural in Charmed and now she looks like a clown. i couldn't stop looking at her stupid lips last night. Why Rose why. you were so beautiful the way you were

She looks 50+ years old - what a shame.....

the whole time i watched the episode of SVU i was thinking "who is this rose McGowan knock off?" I cant believe it was actually her....she looks ridiculous.and i agree with the person who said it was hard to believe her character was one men would fall over...she looked like she was trying too hard to be good looking with all the obvious plastic surgery.

All I thought every time she was on screen was how much work she had done...it was so distracting. Fillers & botox around your lips create that effect. The irony is that Christine Lahti was also on SVU this past year & had the same face of procedures. Their lips could be scary twins. Maybe Rose got the job by meeting Christine at the surgeons offie. ;)

The pictures don't do the travesty justice. They don't look that bad or different. Watch the SVU episode. She looks like a different person. She's a stretched, injected, plastic shell of the beautiful woman she used to be. She didn't need it! She was so much more beautiful before...
But I mean, hey. As long as she's happy and it makes HER feel beautiful, then who am I to judge? I just wonder what she saw in the mirror that she felt she needed to take those measures.

What "far left?" There were only two photos. You can't look too far left with only two photos. Another brilliant job of reporting and editing.

"Far left" means not to the immediate left of the article. I understood what the writer meant.
Good grief, people, get a life. She looks pretty much the same to me. I'm not all that familiar with Ms. McGowan or her work, but this whole article smacks of a personal vendetta on the part of the writer. Even if she did have work done, why on earth does that merit such an article, and why is it our business? Why am I even reading and writing about this? Leaving now.....

She looks the same! People exaggerate!

I don't like her new look. She has went really far from what she looked like on Charmed. At the end of the episode, where she was crying over her dead brother, I couldn't tell if she was crying or smiling. Her face was frozen! Not a good look for such a beautiful person!

OMG! I thought I was seeing things - "her face appeared stiff and partially immobile" is RIGHT!

SHe reminded me of poor Lisa Rinna but Lisa was prettier. The work she had done made her appear about 55 and desperate to hang onto her looks. The doctors who do this should be held to answer. She did things to her lips that were simply ugly. My condolences to a once pretty woman. No longer.
