'Design Star' judge Vern Yip and his partner welcomed a little girl to the family, PEOPLE reports. Vera Lillian Beatrix was born via surrogate on March 12 and joins older brother, Gavin Joshua Mannox, 14 months."We are thrilled and excited to add a new member to our family. On March 12th, Vera Lillian Beatrix came into the world and she is perfect in every possible way," Yip, 42, told PEOPLE.
"It is safe to say that we are all completely in love! Her big brother Gavin has already been taking good care of her, kissing her head and offering up his toys."
The 'Design Star' judge, who was recently appointed a UNICEF Ambassador for the United States, says he is glad to extend his enthusiasm for children to his new position. "I'm super excited about it," he told PEOPLE last year.

It's sad that this little girl will be raised by 2 gay guys. Little girls need mothers....
WOW, Vern, you say 22,000 children die every day because they don't have daily essentials, yet you hire a person to have a baby for you??? What a hypocrite. Why not adopt???? Not good enough for you? Yet you are a spokesperson for UNICEF? They should fire you!
Very nice to learn Vern and his male lover are the parents of a little girl, and also the parents of an older boy.
If he is so concerned about all the poor children around the world and so many dying, why didn't he adopt one of those? Sounds like he wants his "own" and not some poor sick one.

I totally agree with you. The first thing I thought was, how great, they must have adopted. I guess he wanted a designer baby.
Vern, if you are so concerned about children all over the world, why not adopt? Put your words to action and adopt a child that you say is dying.

He is probably the type that visits an animal shelter and knows that dogs will be euthanized, then goes to a breeder.
He has every right to have his own children. I hope he and his family are very happy.
You go Vern, you are a wonderful designer and I am sure a wonderful father.
