Lady Gaga, always full of surprises, released what she called the 'Country Road Version' of her single 'Born This Way' yesterday. But hold your horses, little Lady, because you're not the only pop superstar dabbling in the genre.
Justin Bieber doesn't go so far as to rock cowboy boots or a Stetson (watch the hair!), but the 17-year-old gets his country on in the new video for 'That Should Be Me,' the remix track he recorded with Grammy-winning collaborators Rascal Flatts.
Will young country fans catch Bieber fever now, too? Seems like every other teen girl in America has, so why not?
'That Should Be Me' is written by Bieber, and the countrified version is off his topselling 'Never Say Never - The Remixes' album. It just so happens that his newsmaking haircut took place while he shot the video in February with the Rascal Flatts men.
All the guys gather 'round with instruments to jam for the first half of the video, then glam it up to sing for the cameras (Bieber, front and center), belting the heartbreak-themed lyrics with gusto, but coming off in some shots a bit like Pipsqueak and the Country Pips. Have a look here:

*shrug* it doesn't matter if someone thinks a country fan is trash, or that the unintelligent call names when all other words fail. What matters is that this interpretation of Bieber's song isn't country, even if Rascal Flatts is singing with him. The music isn't country, his voice isn't country. Even Rascal Flatts doesn't sound country in this song. It's a nice pop ballad, with collaboration from country artists. That's the only claim to country fame this song can make.
Justin is such a puzzy! Why is he trying to imitate a female mega star??

Don't Hate. First of all, this song was originally Justins. So STOP with all the "He doesnt belong in country." Or "He doesn't belong on a country song." Secondly, Get your ears checked. They can both sing. Stop hating and grow up!

They can try to be Country Western but if they try true Western a bunch of true cowboy's will be out to get them.

In case any of you are wondering, this isn't country...

Gaga, stay away from my country music!!!!!!!!!!!

Not country. Rascal Flatts is getting away from country and that is not good. Bieber will never make it with his girlish voice and face.

Just kill them both.

I don't think they are close in talent,GaGa can sing, writes her own music and is actually entertaining,Bieber on the other hand is a kid, singing songs for little kids, more like the Monkees of years ago.He may be great to 10 year olds but not me.

There's a song, "I was country before country was cool." Sorry Beeeeber et.al., you "ain't" country. Country music isn't singin a country song, it's about where the heart is. All of the sudden these posers are wanting to be country because we REAL country music fans, the hard working backbone of America have the money to spend on our artists. Sorry, we ain't buyin it little boy.

Any body else think Rascal Flats is a little light in the loafers?

i am a country fan. country music died about eight years ago when they started calling this trash like taylor swift rascal flatts and underwood country.real country uses steel guitar and fiddles, something these people know nothing about. with bieber joining with flatts it can be four queers instead of three

Rascal Flats is one of the best country music groups and Justin is very talented as well. They sound great together on this song. I don't understand why people have to be so nasty. If you don't like it, don't listen.
