Katy Perry Has a 'Psalmist Gift' Says Mom

Katy Perry's mother, Mary Perry Hudson, is speaking out against her daughter's racy style in a book proposal, reports Page Six.

Hudson, an evangelist, has been shopping a book proposal about how her daughter's sexy ensembles and "foul-mouth fiance" (now husband) Russell Brand have affected her Christian ministry.

"I recognized the psalmist gift in her performance. Yet she sang out, 'I kissed a girl, and I liked it,' while thousands joined her. One part of my heart soared . . . the other part broke for the thousands of hungry souls being fed something that didn't nourish their spirit, but fed their flesh," Hudson wrote.

Hudson compares her relationship with Perry to Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus as well as Jon Voight and Angelina Jolie, because these "children have risen to fame and live contrary to their parents' beliefs."

"Oh, dear God, how can I save her from all this? The money, the fame, the network, the people surrounding her, how can I compete?" Hudson laments upon realizing the extent of her daughter's fame.

Just another parent trying to cash in on their kid's celebrity while spewing hate about said stardom. Gee Mom, it's not very religious to talk trash about people publicly for your own monetary benefit, but I bet you skipped that chapter in your book.
