Candy Spelling Says Her Book Won't Trash Tori, Calls Reports 'Hurtful'

EXCLUSIVE: Candy Spelling is slapping down reports that say the book she's shopping around is going to dish about her often rocky relationship with daughter Tori, telling me 'Golden Girl, Silver Lining' will be about her journey from pampered super-rich housewife to finding her own path once she became a widow.

"It's simply not true," Candy tells me about reports that say her book will throw Tori under the bus. "It's about me starting to work for the first time after I turned 60 and my husband passed away."

Candy tells me she hasn't had a job -- outside of being a homemaker -- since she was 15, making $1.50 an hour at a candy store. Since her TV producer husband Aaron died in 2006, she looked for the perfect gig and found it on Broadway, where she is producing the sure-fire hit 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,' starring Daniel Radcliffe.

"Everyone in my family has done something," she explains. "My husband Aaron was the most prolific TV producer of all time, and my daughter is the queen of reality shows. So I thought I would really like to dabble in producing musicals and then I got so hooked."

With a net worth estimated to be more than $500 million, Candy tells me she doesn't have to work but is doing it because she really enjoys it.

"When I married Aaron I had no idea he would be this successful. I was in love with the man, not the money. We lived in a tiny house," she said. And on the crowd of haters rooting for a feud between her and Tori?

"It's very hurtful when people say mean things about my daughter and me," she said. "There was a time when things were rocky between us, and we worked that out, and I'm going to be on her reality show."

Although, Candy makes it clear she's not a fan of all reality shows, saying, "I don't like those 'Housewives' shows. They all get mean and bitchy, and I get my feelings hurt very easily."

I guess that means you can scrap any future attempts to get Candy to join the 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,' Andy Cohen!

Candy is a mean woman, and as far as buying her book, no way.
After reading this brief story, I already found one lie in it.
Candy did work, she was on All My Children for years.
I guess that slipped her mind, I know anyone who watched the show back in the 80s seen her.
Its Tori I feel bad for, she has to call this woman mother.

I think you are thinking of Kathleen Noone. They look similar, her character was named Ellen.

I remember Candy and her Mother, Sally in the late '60s. Candy was working at Joseph Magnins department store as a sales girl when she waited on Arron (first meeting). She was a lot older than 15 and had already had a marriage dissolved or annulled.

Unbelievable that this issue even has been brought up? This is the mother who brought Tori into this world. Even in the poorest of families a mother should never even have to make that point....most mothers adore their children - this one was rich and more than likely never really had to take care of any of her kids....the richer the more dumb as parents....does that make any sense?? Who knows....??

candy spelling should have been in the article on "worst parents in Hollywood". she has made it clear how she despised her own daughter, jealous of her own daughter and could not stand it to have her around when the father was alive. Aaron Spelling loved tori and his wife could not handle that. I feel bad for the kids, Tori is better off to not have a mother than have one like her. Besides her starting over is a big joke, she paid for the job, anyone will take your money if you offer them enough. I hope her looser book is a big flop!!

Her first husband was abusive so she moved back home. Met Aaron and the rest is history. But Daniel Radcliff? He is disgusting looking and weird. Candy hire Dean your son in law you might have a hit show with Dean but Daniel are you kidding me?

@Blubberbutt (hmmm...strange name): Anyway, if you think "How To Succeed...." can'r succeed with Daniel Radcliffe, you need to get on a plane & get your (You know what) to NY pronto. The show is a big hit.

I go to NYC most weekends. But during the summer you'll find me in Martha's Vineyard or Newport. I live beachfront in CT so I'm even in the Hamptons!! Harry Potter is not my style sorry.

Tori is hideous, she needs a paper bag. Looks like a horse, oh wait that is an insult to horses. All that plastic surgery and she's still ugly. Cogratulations on the reuniting with your daughter. Myself I was hoping for this as I to have children and one of which we had a very rockie relationship for over ten years and we are once again a whole family.My best for you and Tori and the beautiful family Tori has as to me their is nothing like Grandchildren.As all my children are so busy and now I am very busy with all the grandchildren and love every minute of it.Don't let me leave out Tori's husband I believe he is great also. Good luck with your book and I will be buying it as I did think your husband Aaron was the greatest of all times.

my daughter is the queen of reality shows = Please she cant act never has. Her claim to fame is SAD but a FACT. She is Aaron Spellings Spoiled rich daughter. Take a closer look and shes Candy Spelling in a few years eeeeeeewwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!NO Talent COW. They both benefited/took advantage of the Old mans money and savy. With out money they would be nobody and have nothing period.
