Katy Perry's 'E.T.' Video Is a Weird Sci-Fi Adventure With Kanye West

Katy Perry and Kanye West are an unlikely duo, and the video of their collaboration is a fittingly bizarre sci-fi oddity.

Starting out with a 'Wall-E' meets 'Return to Oz' vibe, the video for 'E.T.' tractor-beams in every angle of sci-fi weirdness imaginable. We're talking 'Avatar,' 'Stargate,' 'A.I.' -- no theme is off-limits.

And although Kanye's bars are definitely silly, possibly weak -- "I know a bar out in Mars / Where they drivin' spaceships instead of cars" -- we do get some gnarly glimpses of 'Ye and his diamond teeth floating in a no-gravity space situation. Watch the video here.

The 'E.T' video was directed by Floria Sigismondi, who has worked with artists like David Bowie, Marilyn Manson, Sigur Rós, Bjork, Muse and Christina Aguilera.

The video is spectacular for a Sci-Fi geek like me, but Kanye West??? REALLY? This could have been a hit if it weren't for him. Katy, try teaming up with someone with real talent like Chris Cornell.

All that money it prob took to make that video and it wasnt very good. lol Im sorry but I got bored with it very quickly. If your going to even attempt to be like gaga or marilyn manson then you should at least start with a good in your face dark but out there kind of song. The song was bad and it didnt seem like she gave much. She acted like the make up and wardrobe would do it for her lol im sorry Mrs. Brand but your gonna have to try a little harder if you plan on staying around.
