Miley Cyrus Slams Rebecca Black, Also Says She Is Not Single

Miley Cyrus was once a burgeoning 13-year-old star herself, so why is she hating on young Rebecca Black?

"It should be harder to be an artist," Cyrus pined to Australia's Daily Telegraph when asked about the rising viral sensation and her new song, 'Friday.' "You shouldn't just be able to put a song on YouTube and go out on tour."

Cyrus is no stranger to controversy, but to be fair, she has held it together better than most child-turned-adult stars. Upon turning 18 she's had to face the near-divorce of her parents, racy photos being leaked, the cancellation of 'Hannah Montana' and, of course, the whole salvia bong-smoking incident. But don't look for her to take to the social airwaves to complain about it.

"I do not tweet, I do not social network, I try to stay out of it," she admitted. "For me, I complain enough about people knowing too much about my private life, so to go out there and exploit myself would be silly and hypocritical of what I stand for."

Cyrus is dealing with it the way she was raised by her father Billy Ray Cyrus to deal with it: by singing. "I don't lip-sync," she said proudly. "I would rather someone say I sang like crap than have people see me lip-sync."

Scaling back her stage performance, Cyrus was interviewed by The Daily Telegraph in advance of the Australian leg of her 'Gypsy Heart' tour, and she was excited to share that this set of shows features fewer costume changes, some acoustic songs and a set list influenced by shout-outs from the crowd -- all for a ticket price under $100. But will she be traveling alone?

"I don't want to cross out the Australian boys, but I may or may not be single ... I'm definitely not coming to Australia single."

Big difference between Miley and Rebecca. Rebecca CANNOT SING! She sings through her nose and sounds awful! I thought she was a big joke!? Please be a big joke Rebecca...please.

You think Miley can sing? I just don't understand how all these younger kids have been duped by her. Every time I've heard her sing live she can't stay in tune for mere seconds without going totally flat or sharp. Of course, some people here may not even know what that means. And, before anyone gives me grief. I sang in special chorus in middle school, the church choir, and played clarinet quite proficiently. So I know a good bit about "music".

Miley probably shouldn't of been the one to say that granted. She's barely 18, expecting her to be perfect is ridiculous. By the way have you heard the "Friday" song?? it sucks.. the sad thing is people are making fun of the girl to her face but she so fame crazed she doesn't care.

So, she gets a show. Cause of daddy's name, and sinks her teeth into a bunch of attention starved pre-teens. Sells them a bunch of high price Hannah Montanna crap. Grabs attention whenever she can (Grinding her producer was it?) Smoking a bong (Good role model) and then basically wants to crush someone elses dreams. I bet your family is SOOO proud! Oh, yeah, there just as bad! Tish & Bret Michaels? Divorce, no divorce? Who cares anymore.

i think she said exactly what everyone was thinking. yeah she was able to start a career bc of her name but the fact is she is trying to make a name for herself. that is something i respect about an artist. rebecca black on the other hand did a youtube video and now everyone thinks she's talented. i think rebecca black is the reason the music industry is going down the tubes bc no one wants to work hard for their music they just wanna make a quick buck to get famous.

The song friday is a ridiculous song, and the teenage girl is kinda of a joke too it looks like she is talking into the song which is super lame, look up Willow Smith shes even better than these two girls... seriously! and she is way YOUNGER!! :)
