Selena Gomez's new hit single, 'Who Says,' is an anthem meant to amp up your self-esteem, and what could make a teen girl feel better about herself than getting a rave from one of your idols? That's what happened to Selena at an Oscar party last month when she ran into Reese Witherspoon.
"I about had a heart attack, she's amazing," she told me. "So I walked up to her and was a total goober and I was like, 'Can I have a picture with you?' And she was like" -- in a spot on Reese impression -- "'Of course! Oh my goodness, If your song 'Naturally,' if I hear that one more time ... My daughter loves it!'"
The 'Wizards of Waverly Place' actress, 18, says the time is ripe for a song like 'Who Says,' which debuted last week at 24 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.
"It's extremely inspirational, and it just makes me feel really good to have a positive message out there right now with the cyber-bullying and the bullying in school. It's hard enough growing up and figuring out who you are and what on Earth you want to be. So, it doesn't help that people are constantly cutting you down."
Selena says she knows how it feels to be bullied, and if you read the news, you know how harsh fans of her buddy Justin Bieber can be on her. After they were spotted together a few months ago, Bieber fanatics barraged her with death threats on Twitter.
The negativity "gets to me," she said. "I think that's why I try to reach out to my fans because I understand it."
The Disney doll also hit us up with scoop on her upcoming romantic comedy, 'Monte Carlo,' out July 1. "It's really fun. It's kind of the next step into the film world for me, and I'm kind of nervous."
Check Out 'Who Says' from Selena Gomez and the Scene:
Selena is a great role model, she seems more down to earth and caring than a lot of people twice her age. I hope she has a long and successful career, we need more people like her for our kids to look up to.
I totally agree. I bought her CD for me! Not my 11 year old daughter (though she likes it too!) and I am not into dance music or pop really at all. But she's just such a sweet girl.
Selena is 18 and she still hasn't taken off her cloths or had a sex tape. GOOD FOR YOU SELENA. Hang in there, and tell your boy friend to keep his hands off in public.
What a silly mommy! Katie Holmes takes Suri into the water in her clothes as the two spend the afternoon at the beach in Miami. More of Today's Hottest Photos

If you play the song backwards she's really telling all the Justin Bieber fans to back off her man before she kills them.
