Lily Collins to Star in Julia Roberts 'Snow White' Film

Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who's the luckiest actress of all? This weekend, many would say musician Phil Collins' daughter -- the stylish starlet who just scored a royally big break.

Lily Collins, 22, is "so excited," according to People.com, about news that she'll play Snow White in 'The Brothers Grimm: Snow White,' the upcoming 3-D adaption starring Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen.

The film is famously heading into production at the same time as another major Snow White project gets underway in Hollywood: 'Snow White and the Huntsman,' starring Charlize Theron and Kristen Stewart ('Twilight').

Collins has a 'Twilight' connection, too, due to rumors that her boyfriend is the hit franchise's beloved werewolf, Taylor Lautner. The pair co-star in the thriller 'Abduction,' opening later this year. Not that Collins is revealing anything about their relationship. "I'm going to keep the private life private," she says. "I'm in this for the craft....for the passion."

Director Tarsem Singh says it was a very specific facial feature that led him to cast Collins as one of the world's most famous fictional princesses.

"I saw her eyebrows, and I said, 'You're it,'" he recalls.

Collins dabbled in writing as a teenager, penning a column for the U.K. magazine Elle Girl, and has also modeled for Tommy Hilfiger. As an actress, she debuted on the big screen in the role of Sandra Bullock's daughter in 2009's 'The Blind Side.' She'll co-star with 'The Social Network' star Armie Hammer in the new 'Snow White' film, which begins shooting next month and opens in June 2012.
