'The Doctors' Star Investigated By California Medical Board

The doctor is in -- but not for long, it seems.

RadarOnline.com reports that Robert Lucas, featured on CBS hit 'The Doctors,' is being investigated by the California Physician Assistant Committee in an attempt to determine whether or not Lucas is fit to practice medicine.

Lucas, a physician's assistant to plastic surgeon Dr. Drew Ordon, was arrested twice for DUI in 2008 and pleaded guilty each time.

Lucas paid a hefty fine, spent three weeks behind bars and was ordered to serve five years probation.

In the request handed down to the medical board, California's attorney general cited unlawful use of alcohol, conduct that would warrant denial of a certificate, general unprofessional conduct and convictions of crime substantially related to the practice of a physician assistant as the reasons for the investigation.

Prior to his trouble in California, Lucas had his physician's assistant license temporarily suspended in Connecticut after he was found to be administering Botox injections without a doctor present. Just days after his full license was restored by that state, the New York Board for Professional Medical Conduct placed conditions on his license, issuing him a censure and reprimand.

If the results of the upcoming California hearing do not favor Lucas, his license could be revoked or suspended, and he may be ordered to cover the cost of the state's investigation.

These "Doctor" shows need to be taken off the air.Most of the so called "Doctors" are either quacks, or they have no expertise in all forms of medicine. They also create an audience of hypochondriacs.

Mike, you truely are a moron. I don't know much about the show, but I do know that those Drs. all practice medicine. The Female Dr. Is a reknowned Ob/gyn. The Dr. with the slicked back hair is a well known plastic surgeon. The young guy works in a hospital. What is awful about this pathetically written article is that the person in question isn't even a regular. It also makes it seem as though it was one of the regular Drs. that is in trouble.

The problem I have with this, is they didn't even feature the one that's under investigation! They featured Drew Ordon, NOT Robert Lucas. What gives? Why can't they get the reporting right. Makes it look like Ordon is the one under investigation and if I read it right he's not, it's his PA.

I HATE ALL THE SHOWS ON DOCTORS OR WEIGHT LOSS, ETC. I THINK THEY ARE ALL FRAUDS AND SOMETIMES EVEN GIVE DANGEROUS ADVICE. I WATCHED THEM FOR A TIME AND THEN STARTED TO REALIZE THAT IF YOU CONCENTRATE ON ALL THOSE "SICK" PARTS OF LIFE, THAT YOU HAVE NO LIFE AT ALL. THEY SHOULD ALL BE REMOVED. THEY ARE NEITHER HELPFUL NOR DO THEY GIVE VALID INFORMATION.

I knew the "doctors" on that show were just actors. That's why I don't watch shows like that.

What is it with these doctors??? Do they wannabe doctors or actors?? Seem to me they cant have a very successful or big practice (if any) if they're spending all their time in front of the cameras.

The problem here seems to be with the PRESENTATION of WHO is actually the one in TROUBLE. Popeater is just Tabloid reporting. I don't watch the show myself, but I do know who the ER doc is and the woman's doc. They both seem reputable to me other than the powers that be sort of tarting up the gynecologist a little too much. THAT will take away from her credibility, for sure.

The pic they are showing is of all the MDs on the show. Not of Robert Lucas. If people represent themselves as MDs and are not, then they can go to jail. Dr. Oz is a very prominent heart surgeon. Dr Phil has a PhD is Clinical Psychology.
