Kate Hudson, What Are You Drinking?

A pregnant Kate Hudson took some time off from her hectic life in Hollywood and relaxed with pals in Buenos Aires.

The actress has been spending time in Argentina with boyfriend and baby-daddy Matt Bellamy, whose band, Muse, is touring. Also on the road? Hudson's 7-year-old son, Ryder, from her marriage to Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson.

The mom-to-be worked up quite a thirst during her stint in the South American country, although her choice of beverage came as a bit of a surprise to onlookers.

The actress was spotted sipping from what looks like a large glass of red wine. While some believe that imbibing in moderation while pregnant is OK, many experts disagree.

A New York-based OB-GYN who has not treated Hudson says of her choice of beverage, "Right now, no one really knows what amount of alcohol is harmful for the fetus, so it's recommended that you don't drink at all during pregnancy."

The doctor's suggestion? Abstain. "We just don't know enough."

Michelle, you are absolutely right! And to all of you who fear for the health of the baby, if you did not exercise everyday while pregnant, if you ate meat while pregnant, if you were overweight while pregnant, if you inhaled noxious traffic fumes while pregnant, if you consumed caffeine while pregnant, if you did not get 9 hours of sleep every night while pregnant, if you drank sodas while pregnant, if you did not eat the RDA of fruit, veggies and grain every single day, then you too were POSSIBLY endangering the health of your unborn baby and are unfit to be a mother. So, just what type of wine was she drinking? Oh you don't know? Then how do you know it was wine? Even if it were wine, I have yet to read that 4 oz of alcohol during pregnancy does ANY harm. Control your OWN life perfectly before you control another's life. Perhaps you think someone deciding what you can put in YOUR mouth is the way the world should be run? Or maybe you want 24-hr cams on every mother to make sure they are raising their children right? And I am not even gonna address the person who thinks sleeping with 3 people (did you see her sleep with them?) makes her a tramp. Get a life, people, preferably your OWN life!

I had my children before we knew about drinking while pregnant. I didn't party, but did have wine with meals now and then and even a mixed drink. I have 4 healthy, intelligent children. Other women from my timeframe also drank and have healthy children. For many years, pregnant women drank alcohol with no dire consequences to the child. I do now believe that it is probably better to not drink, especially during the first trimester. As for this young women, she may have been drinking non alcholic wine.

Yea, her body, her baby, and if it's born with problems the nanny will take care of it anyway. Michelle, you might look past your political beliefs to see that the baby is a separately effected person. It's only "part" of her body for 9 months and then it will have to deal with whatever happens to it for the rest of it's life.

Totally agree. Everyone has something to say and being that she is an "actress" of course people are going to blow up about it more than just if she were some random woman. I wasn't a saint while pregnant with my last two children and they turned out beautiful and smart....

Thank you! I heard a drink a day ain't gonna kill the kid. We've also heard of drug addict homeless woman having kids - some addicted-not condoning that. Leave her alone.

A great mother doesn't drink while being pregnant! So to me she is no better than a mother who is shooting up w/drugs! Both cause problems that a child and baby do not need nor deserve to have in their lives, if she is a great mother she wouldn't be drinking! Kate Hudson is anything but a great mother!
