Kate Gosselin Worries About Having to Get a Real Job

TLC is offering up all new episodes of 'Kate Plus 8' starting tonight. And although the new season pulls out all the stops, including taking Kate Gosselin and her kids to Australia for the premiere, insiders tell me that everyone, especially Kate, is worried that she might not receive a warm welcome back.

"This season Kate has been told to bring her A-game," a TV producer tells me. "If her ratings drop to the 1 million mark this will be her last season, and then Kate would have to get a real job."

An insider assures me the new 'Kate Plus 8' episodes pack the goods: "You are going to see Kate spend another night camping, but this time without Sarah Palin. You will see her explore Sydney, meet with aboriginals and even swim with sharks in an attempt to win back viewers."

TLC gave the reality star a lucrative opportunity to have her own show after she and Jon called it quits. But despite the hype, Kate's spinoff, 'Kate Plus 8,' did not bring in the numbers TLC had hoped for.

The series debut brought in 3.4 million, but the second episode dropped 33 percent to 2.2 million viewers before stabilizing with around 1.6 million viewers per episode -- way below the staggering 10 million that tuned in for the infamous episode in which Jon and Kate finally announced their divorce.

Still, a source close to Kate tells me that TLC continues to have faith in the Gosselins. "TLC hadn't really done 'Kate Plus 8' in a series way until now -- it was just sporadic specials that people had trouble finding," my source says. "TLC does believe in her."

As much as I enjoyed the early episodes of Jon & Kate plus 8, that photo of Kate walking w/ her 8 childen says it all. I may speak for a lot of former viewers when I say, there's nothing left to see. Kate has a nursing degree, it's been a fun ride, but when the living expenses are too costly , it's time to "get real". I have to finally admit, celebrity has gone to Kate's head. Downsize, everyone else is spending cautiously, unload that money pit home for one.

I watched her and liked her...Note I said LIKED...after the whining she did on the trip with Sara Palin..She acted like she was so special..I will not watch her again..she is a snotty brat..

I agree! The whole Im hungry and wah wah during the camping trip i wanted to go out there and smack her with a stick. while her kids were having a blast at being kids for once she was all about her as always. Those poor kids have not a fighting chance in hell with her as a mother

Oh that is just tooooo bad Kate! Have to work for a living...boo hoo! You are so phoney, and everyone can see that. Agreed...should have thought about the future before you saddled yourself with a litter.
Yeah..what kind of nursing degree does she have? She is so out of practice and prob hasn't kept up anykind of education in nursing. A licensed/registered nurse has to have so many hours a year to keep her licensed current in the state she is licensed in. So I doubt she has done that, so back to nurse refresher school. Personally she looks like a nurses aide to me!

With that many kids, I'd worry too. I mean, about a "real job" in the outside world. Seems like Kate has a full time "real job" already, raising her family.

I would not watch her show ever again. Maybe this is the
lesson she has to be taught.

She did act like a cry baby with Sarah Palin,that show

I would not watch that show if it was the only show on the tube. Hey we all have to get real jobs, why should a no-talent person with a litter of kids be any different? Too bad the dancing thing didn't work out. HEY KATE, Mcdonals is hiring 50,000 new people. I'm just saying.

why would i want to watch a bunch of strangers taking luxurious vacations that I can't afford because I am working full time as a single mother of four. I wouldn't expect her to fund my lifestyle and personal choices so why should we fund hers?
