'True Blood' Star Ryan Kwanten Rescues Injured Man

'True Blood' star Ryan Kwanten helped rescue an injured man in Hollywood Friday night, while bystanders stood around doing nothing to help.
JustJared.com reports that Kwanten was driving his car when he saw a bloody and injured man lying in the middle of a street.
An eyewitness is reported saying, "There was a bloody guy lying in the middle of the street at Hollywood and Highland, and no one was doing anything."
The person goes on to say that Kwanten "pulled up, saw the man down, jumped out of his car, and raced over to see if he could help."
Kwanten, 34, shouted at some people to help him move the injured man to the sidewalk and stayed with the man until paramedics arrived.
And while the gathering crowd recognized Kwanten, the source said, "He was just making sure this guy was OK."
UsMagazine.com is reporting that Kwanten's rep had no details when asked about the incident.

Ryan Kwanten did the right thing and should be looked at like a hero. My question is why was no one helping this man when Ryan Kwanten pulled up? This dosn't speak to well of the people of Hollywood.

Bob- I couldn't have said it better myself.

He had the right intentions but he did not do the right thing. In cases like this the right thing is to NOT move the person until qualified medical personnel arrive. By moving this person they may have done additional damage to either his spine or neck and possibly even cause internal injuries to be made worse.

Every situation is different. Maybe he was keeping others from driving over him. Keep in mind, article states "people were standing around doing nothing". Obviously, no one cared but him. Thanks to him, the person may live.
True, you don't move them if you can help it, but the 1st thing they teach you in first aid is to get them the hell out of a dangerous spot if they're still at risk. I'd say lying in the road on the busiest intersection in Hollywood qualifies.
