Katie Holmes Shares Suri's Upcoming Birthday Plans

Suri Cruise will turn 5 on April 18, and mom Katie Holmes talked excitedly about plans for the big day.

'The Kennedys' star shared some of the details with Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show, revealing plans that are surprisingly low-key for Suri, who is known to wear designer clothes and heels.

E! Online reports Holmes saying, "She's [Suri] turning 5 in about two weeks. She wants a piñata and her girlfriends to come over [and go] swimming. We're gonna make a cake together."

Holmes continued, "This is my favorite day of the year. So we're gonna have a little tea party, and I like to girl it up."

The actress also talked about Suri's favorite books at the moment. "'Fancy Nancy' and 'Pinkalicious' right now. She loves it. They're great books. They're fun."

Holmes recently talked to Ellen DeGeneres about an incident involving the paparazzi taking a particular picture. "Recently I took [Suri] to get ice cream in New York at this place called Serendipity that we go to all the time ... We go in and we're waiting for a table and she grabs some gummies that are boy-part gummies. And I was horrified!"

"Boy-part?" DeGeneres inquired.

"P-E-N-I-S gummies," Holmes clarified to the laughing audience. "And I said, 'Oh, wow, those aren't Swedish Fish.'"

I hope that they wash that kid's hair for her birthday and put some nice clothes on her. She always looks like a rag picker. This winter the kid was out in the cold with no socks on her feet. I mean she is only 4.
