Glenn Beck to Leave His FOX News Show

Glenn Beck is ditching his mega-popular show on FOX News. According to Business Insider, the polarizing host will "transition" away from the show later in 2011, but continue working with the network.

"Glenn intends to transition off of his daily program, the third highest rated in all of cable news, later this year," reads a press release.

Beck will be slated to "develop and produce a variety of television projects for air on the Fox News Channel as well as content for other platforms including Fox News' digital properties."

While the press release is quick to tout the successes of Beck's show, no explanation is given for his departure. Beck's show has aired daily at 5PM since early 2009.

"Mr. Beck has been contemplating an exit from Fox for some time," the New York Times writes. "Two of the post-Fox options he has considered, according to people who have spoken about it with him, are a partial or wholesale takeover of a cable channel, or an expansion of his subscription video service on the Web. His company has been staffing up - making Web shows, some of which have little or nothing to do with Mr. Beck, and charging a monthly subscription for access to the shows."

his agenda was full of half-truths with no facts....that is why CNN and rachel Maddox does fact checks...so people like him are seen for what they really are.....noone like beck goes into the background unless someone puts him there......

I can't wait to see your faces when he takes over a cable channel or starts an acting career. And then what I don't get is that if you hate him then you weren't watching him and so why would you care if he was on the air or not?

I heartily applaud Glenn Beck for sparing the public any more of his drivilish vitriol. The man turns my stomach. He represents all the things that stain this country's flag, driving wedges between its people and offending the foreign born.
