Oprah Won't Publicly Support Obama in 2012 Election

When talk show queen Oprah Winfrey announced she was publicly supporting Barack Obama for president back in 2008, she shocked many TV insiders who had always thought it best for talk show hosts to keep their political views to themselves.

Now as the 2012 election process has officially begun, sources tell me this time around Oprah's support will be much more private.

"For 2012, much has changed for Oprah. She now has own cable channel called OWN that has been struggling to find an audience -- she isn't going to do anything to alienate them," a TV insider tells me. "Unlike in 2008, when a drop in ratings didn't matter as much for the queen of TV, Oprah is now fighting every day to get people to tune into OWN."

Oprah Winfrey's daily talk show ratings dropped in 2008 after her highly publicized political rally for Barack Obama's presidential campaign. An October 2008 Gallup poll before the rallies but after Oprah's public endorsement of Obama found that Oprah's favorable ratings had fallen from 74 to 66 percent while her unfavorable ratings jumped from 17 to 26 percent. Then came news that Oprah's TV ratings showed that her daytime audience, which was nearly 9 million at its height in 2004-05, had fallen to 7.3 million.

As much as Oprah may still love President Obama and may support him behind the scenes, do not expect to see the same public support you saw in 2008. As my source puts it, "Helping a friend keep the most important job in the world is great, but making sure her OWN network thrives is now her priority."

Agreed as for bush he was more qualified then the chairman oba mao. Only 655 days left til chairman oba mao's out & can golf & vaction on his own time & money. Even Carter was a better president then chairman oba mao. Even William Henry Harrison
who served only 32 days as president before dying was a better president then chairman oba mao. Chairman oba mao has made America a joke

the only reason you see him not fit to be president is because of his race....what makes you think all of those white men that ran the country did such a wonderful job...YOU obviously did not do your home work prior to his election....the country was being sold overseas...and the economy was at rock bottom but YOU and your counter parts were to stupid to see it.

Oprah is going to back Obama with as much money as he needs; doesn't want it public though. It would hurt her image in her professional field. I for one, used to admire that lady; but she's biased, is close with the family and doesn't think straight anymore. So many folks thought she was fair about everything. No more.

No one took more vacations on record than BUSH....and also he was not qualified...The man was a drunk all through his military enlistment...His father saw to it that he did not see any action outside of a bar...He was stationed on a bar stool for his entire enlistment...He pissed his pants when 9/11 happened...he did not know what to do so he remained reading stories for 8 minutes to school kids till someone told him he has to be taken into hiding for safe keeping....

I find it interesting you say that about granite counter tops and stainless appliances. I have always thought they looked nice but never felt the "need" that it was the only way to go. Im glad to see im not the only one that thinks people are clowns for having to "have" them no matter if they looked good or not. Some kitchens they just dont look right in, but people would look at brand new appliances and say "oh....there not stainless" whatever!
