Glenn Beck Nominates Replacement, Discusses Departure from FOX Show

News hit yesterday that Glenn Beck would step down from his popular FOX News program later this year but continue developing material for the network and its digital properties.

"I have been talking around this for almost a year," Beck told Andrew Napolitano on FOX Business on Wednesday. "I kept saying, 'Hear me, hear me: Prepare yourself for a time when I'm not gonna be around. You've gotta lead, you've gotta know what's true.' I tried to do it for those who had ears and eyes."

On his own 5 p.m. self-titled program, Beck likened himself to Paul Revere in explaining his departure. "When I took this job I didn't take it because it was going to be a career for me," Beck said. "Paul Revere did not get up on the horse and say, 'I'm going to do this for the rest of my life.' He didn't do it. He got off his horse at some point and fought in the revolution, and then he went back to silver-smithing."

Beck said he began his FOX News show because he thought he "had something important to share."

Warning critics who may be heralding the big departure, Beck told Napolitano on 'Freedom Watch,' "I am so tempted to say this to all those who say 'celebrate': You are going to pray for the days of 5 p.m. Look out."

Then Beck nominated Andrew Napolitano as his successor. "Make you the replacement for me at 5 p.m.," he said.

Napolitano replied: "I've been here for 13 years, you've been here for a little over two. It's hard for me to remember what FOX was like without you."

The Fox Channel themselves said due to declining ratings and boycotts by advertisers, that they not him made the decision to kick this creep to the curb.So its not liberals who got this pscho canned,but conservatives who finally wised up and saw this guy for what he was, a money grubbing ,say anything to get attention(usually with no facts or proof to back up his rants),egotist.Im no fan of Bill O Reillys, but even he took issue with some of the bull Beck concocted. So good riddance.

the world is going to hell in a hand basket and Glenn is right when he says that we will soon will pray for the good ole days of 5 pm just look around you and open your eyes we are befuddled by the desire for everything to be normal. We are not living in normal times. I am not Mormon but I do believe we are in the biblical end of days
