Karina Smirnoff in Playboy Could Get 'Dancing' Star in Hot Water

announced on Wednesday that the "May issue of Playboy is unforgettable with Dancing With the Stars'
Karina Smirnoff on the cover and nude inside," causing people backstage at the hit family show to freak out.
"If Karina posed naked, she can kiss her dancing days goodbye," a 'DWTS' insider told me immediately after hearing of Hef's announcement on Twitter. "I hope for Karina's sake that this isn't true."

Us Weekly says they've confirmed, though Karina's rep has yet to respond and ABC told me they weren't commenting. In the meantime, the sexy dancer will continue to wow audiences each week with surprise favorite 'Karate Kid' Ralph Macchio. However, the biggest surprise is going to come later this month when the May issue of Playboy hits newsstands.
Given Ralph and Karina's popularity so far this season, it seems more than likely that they will still be foxtrotting away when the issue is released to the world.
The immediate response of ABC, I'm told, is that having one of their dancers pose naked during an ongoing season could "soil" the wholesome show's image.
"ABC publicity department controls the image of this show with an iron fist. It's a cash cow and they are not going to allow its reputation to be soiled by a dancer who wants to do Playboy," an ABC source tells me.
Aside from getting into hot water with family-TV fans and the network, I'm told that Karina may have violated the terms of her contract by posing for the venerable lad mag without getting her bosses to sign off on it.
It wouldn't be the first time a member of the 'DWTS' family has had to be stopped.
"Just a few weeks ago, ABC PR stopped [the show's host] Tom Bergeron from doing a live webcast with an outlet they didn't approve of. I can only imagine is going on right now after Hef's tweet."
Karina also wouldn't be the only person on the ballroom floor who has posed naked in Playboy. Hugh has visited the ballroom several times to cheer on his former girlfriend
Kendra Wilkinson as a contestant on the show, but obviously he was paying close attention to another lady on the dance floor.

She is a World Champion Ballroom dancer. I have never purchased a Playboy but I definately will be buying this issue. She is amazing on the dance floor and absolutely gorgeous. This will have absolutely no impact on her status working for the show.

I seriously doubt DWTS is concerned with a squeaky clean image given their show's "hostess" Brooke Burke has posed for Playboy, and yes for having Chris Brown perform.
I personally, along with alot of women, find Playboy and any other porn mag objectionable so no I wouldn't be voting for whomever is in it.

Okay, I hate the fact that when someone does something "taboo" or "unorthodox" in society and people have to have a heart attack over it. There's nothing wrong with being in a photo shoot like this. Karina is gorgeous and talented, she doesn't deserve to be criticized. I bet in twenty years they'll never let her forget it.

Really??? This is news??? And everyone is right. If the didn't have Pam Anderson and Holly on one season then Kendra the next, I might buy it. They must be trying to bring more publicity to the show. Def trying to bring more sex appeal. What dif is Karina wants to pose. Its her body, and like someone else said, u know what she looks like anyway with those costumes they wear.

If parents are being responsible with their reading material and not allowing their children to be exposed to something that is un-child-like then the spread of a magazine shouldn't have anything to do with the dancing on a 'family show'. However, when teenage boys get their hands on the issue and fall in love, the ratings of Dancing with the Stars is bound to go up. Am I right or what? LOL

Karina Smirnoff is a fame and label ho who would do anything for exposure and more fame. She has a poster of herself and a dollar sign where her heart should be. Pure shallowness. But, she can dance but how famous can she get by just dancing?

ABC should keep it's moral up dosen't she show enough of her skin on dwts why should she have to go through hugh to show more that's crazy anyone that dose the nude poseing dosn't have any self morals just cause they got it dosen't mean they have to show it that's so wrong were all sinners we should cover up that's whats wrong with the world these days to much sex skin showing and fighting along with foul language maybe I can't spell but you know what I mean.

ABC execs have yet to do anything about this, however, if they move against Karina, I'm going to support a boycott of DWTS and all of its sponsors!!! It's time that we all stood up to the right-wing nuts trying to steal our country away from us and turn it into something close to Afghanistan when the Taliban ruled. This isn't Iran, and I hope ABC-Disney suits get the message loud and clear!

There actually having some one who won't need airbrushing. That is the kind of body that should be posing. Nothing fake just a fit body from years of training. I will be buying that issue. And any other dancer that would pose. Without question she received seven figures for that. I believe that is the going rate.

I just think it's hilarious that ABC doesn't want to ruin its reputation yet Kendra, a former playmate herself and pole dancer, is a much loved contestant on the show this season. Let's be real. This totally will boost their ratings. More men will definitely be tuning in.
