Friend: Kate Gosselin Shocked Jon's Life Coach Is Suing Her

Reality star Kate Gosselin is mystified that she's getting sued by her ex's life coach, Dr. Sylvia Lafair, for allegedly not paying over $10,000 in marriage counseling fees to the Pennsylvania-based doc, with friends telling me the suit clashes with reality.

"How many times did Jon make it crystal clear that the ex-couple never had marriage counseling," a friend of Kate's tells me. "In several interviews, he blamed Kate's refusal to seek counseling as one of the main factors that led up to their marriage falling apart. So how could Kate possibly owe this money?"

Indeed, Jon told ABC back in 2009 that "I have a $22,000 therapy bill. I mean, I tried to have marriage counseling. I did it myself. She refused to go."

The complaint was filed on March 28, 2011, by Creative Energy Options, claiming a total of $10,476 was still owed for services rendered in 2009 between Feb. 4 and March 23.

"Client requested Dr. Sylvia Lafair fly to Los Angeles California to perform marriage counseling then refused to pay for travel fees," the filing reads.

"This doctor didn't provide marriage counseling, she was Jon's life coach. And we can all see how well that worked out," an insider tells me. "If anyone owes her money it's Jon. Although if I were him I would ask for my money back!"

Amen !!! The silence was wonderful. Last week, Kate remarked on ET that "she may not be done with dancing". Lord, please don't let her back on that show.

I guess the doctor/life coach, or whatever she is, can't get any money from that deadbeat Jon, so she is going after Kate. I really enjoyed the short, quiet time without these two in the news.

This Dr or whatever the heck she is ?
Is placing blame on Kate for Jons responsibility no wonder Jon does it concerning everything in his life, she taught him.
Jon always blames someone else for his wrong doings his debts and his decisions.

Now this is the American way. Suing someone that did not ask nor get services from you. I am thinking that she is being sued simply because she was at the time, the wife if Jon. The Life Coach probably think that Kate will just pay something to make her go away. I did not especially like this couple even when they were a couple.

Don't pay it, Kate. You have no legal obligation to pay Jon's debts. Have your lawyer call up this marriage counselor and tell her to go pound sand.

Marriage counselors are usually the most psychotic and don't ever help matters. They pick favorites OR just don't care as long as they get fees.

Jon has no money. It's old news. I'm sure that the life coach/marriage counselor/whatever decided that they would have a better shot at settling out of court with Kate, since she has a show on TLC. I don't love Kate, but if it's not her debt, she shouldn't be held responsible.

I don't think a degree is necessary in Pennsylvania to be a life coach. So.....find your own and watch the sparks fly when Jon gets his bill. I'm up for grabs!

Sylvia LaFair & Creative Energy Options specializes in executive and leadership counseling. The closest thing to marraige counseling they offer is "Managing Conflict in a Family Business."
Apparently they were still attempting to repair the "brand."

Jon wanted marital therapy and Kate wanted to repair the Family Business. Two different animals.

That figures the show is back for another season, and now the B.S starts. This seems to happen a lot when its back on even when she was on DWTS it was constant, when that show isnt on, you hear nothing.

I truly dont blame Jon because she was so rude and controlling when the two was on the camera at the same time.She belittled him always.and he was so very nice to her.it was clear that she was the ruler over him and the children.
