Video: 'Idol' Judges Rocked By Top 9 Elimination Shocker

The judges saved Casey Abrams a couple of weeks ago, so that option isn't around anymore. That means 'American Idol' is counting on you to get it right each and every week. But there's been almost no consistency in the bottom three this season.

So far we've seen Haley, Stefano, Paul and Casey in the Bottom Three this season among the remaining contestants. And this week continued the trend of seeing some new faces in the bottom. It's harder than ever to predict what the American public is looking for.

But one thing everyone seemed to agree on is that this week's eliminated contestant should not have been going home so soon.

"I'm never upset on this show and I'm never really mad," Randy Jackson said. "But this makes me mad."

Perhaps no one was as stunned as Stefano Langone. Standing beside early favorite Pia Toscano, Langone had to have figured it was him headed home. He simply stood there dumbstruck when Ryan Seacrest announced that he was safe.

For the fifth elimination in a row, it was one of the women in the competition who was sent home. We simply refuse to believe that all six of the guys in the Top 13 are superior to the five girls that have been sent packing.

If Langone's face showed shock, there was shock, tears and outrage on the judge's panel.

Jennifer Lopez tearfully said, "I have no idea what just happened here."

Even Seacrest closed the show by appealing directly to the audience, as if he didn't agree with these results either. "We need you," he told us all. "Stay with us this season."

This is totally shocking! She was by far the best singer there. Hope she'll do the same as Jennifer Hudson did

I think she is far from over. A lot of the ones that were voted off early have made a great career, in fact often better than the winners. Look at Jennifer Hudson like you said, Chris Daughtry is another. In the meantime some of the winners have bombed like Taylor Hicks.
I personally loved Pia and think she will go far...
Lots of talent this year, it is anyone's game

She wasn't that good. No personality, no rapport with the audience, just a lot of hype and cutesy cutesy. SHE GOT THE LEAST VOTES OF ALL OF THE CONTESTANTS, DUH?? WAKE UP?? and rightfully so. Early on, someone called her the favorite to win. They were wrong but you all bought the hype. Tuesday's song she did sucked. The judges acted surprised for her benefit.

Pia was talented, yes, but incredibly boring. I think the viewers want to see a unique artist win, bot another Cline, Mariah, etc.

I agree she had the best performance of the night. The girl that sang Aretha Franklin's song "horribly" should have gone home. I did notice when I tried to vote for Pia, it took three times to get through, so the system is "flawed" a bit! I do hope Pia gets a recording contract from someone, she really deserves it!!

sway and mickey ...this is not a personality contest...so typical and "highschoolish"....I also think young girls vote the most and they (dingys) vote for cute guys....they are suppose to sing their songs their way and not like the original entertainer....and she did that....DO any of you think scotty did better then elvis presley??????NO....the voting system needs to change so everyone can only vote the same amount ...It's not fair and the waste of my time ...I really could care who wins now.....I do believe she will have signed a contract with a "biggy"because of this mishap,that shouldn't have happened...happened to jennifer hudson and she went on to bigger and better things......

Although it is shocking I think mostly women are voting and women can be brutal and jealous. Pia was the best singer but maybe came off as too confident. I dont' know how Paul & Stefano have remained. Personally I love Lauren but I don't know if she can survive based on tonights results. James has my vote.

actually she was not confident and a bit shy...carrie underwood started like that ...I don't remember her jumping all over the stage ,either....now look at her...I don't even know it's the same girl sometimes

I HAVE SEEN WRONG BEFORE WHEN JUDGES SAVED CASEY I SAID IT WAS TOO SOON BUT I EXPECT TO SEE PIA ALL THE WAY TO THE END.YOU SHOULD HAVE A RECOUNT IT IS AN INJUSTICE.

Well Tex, sorry I don't agree. Pia was by far the best singer. The yellers are Jacob and Casey. Pia and James were my choices for the finals.

I said it before and I am saying it again. "Idol" was Simon. Without him, they will go through the motions but Idol will die!

I love Idol this year. I don't think not having Simon around has hurt them at all. I do think that once his X Factor starts that will hurt Idol. I love Steven and JLo as judges, they have added a lot to the show.

Can not believe what happened tonite. Blame the judges for allowing Casey to stay, instead of saving their "save" for later in the season. Now they have Casey and lost Pia. Will not be watching AI anymore. Simon, we need you..show seems like a lie this year..and Ryan is so nasty when telling them who is in and who goes home. He (Ryan) should be sent packing. Too cruel..Pia is definitely the best of the group. Shame on you AI..stop blaming the voters, don't believe votes even count. All my friends said they will no longer watch the show after tonite.

Pia was clearly one of the best and could have won, it was heart breaking to see her cry when we all know she should have made it to the finals. You have a bunch of teen age girls voting on how cute, instead of how talented. I'm still very upset.
