The judges saved Casey Abrams a couple of weeks ago, so that option isn't around anymore. That means 'American Idol' is counting on you to get it right each and every week. But there's been almost no consistency in the bottom three this season.
So far we've seen Haley, Stefano, Paul and Casey in the Bottom Three this season among the remaining contestants. And this week continued the trend of seeing some new faces in the bottom. It's harder than ever to predict what the American public is looking for.
But one thing everyone seemed to agree on is that this week's eliminated contestant should not have been going home so soon.
"I'm never upset on this show and I'm never really mad," Randy Jackson said. "But this makes me mad."
Perhaps no one was as stunned as Stefano Langone. Standing beside early favorite Pia Toscano, Langone had to have figured it was him headed home. He simply stood there dumbstruck when Ryan Seacrest announced that he was safe.
For the fifth elimination in a row, it was one of the women in the competition who was sent home. We simply refuse to believe that all six of the guys in the Top 13 are superior to the five girls that have been sent packing.
If Langone's face showed shock, there was shock, tears and outrage on the judge's panel.
Jennifer Lopez tearfully said, "I have no idea what just happened here."
Even Seacrest closed the show by appealing directly to the audience, as if he didn't agree with these results either. "We need you," he told us all. "Stay with us this season."
That's not very true, seeing as how Pia is the only talented girl who got voted off, all of the other girls happened to be least favorites, because their voice was lacking.
really all the remaining contestants are good Pia was never original enough to win. So she is gone she was never going to win....... I live in Central Florida. alot of talented people here with Disney and Universal. i can see Pia's beauty and talent in any karaoke bar in Central Florida.
this show is the biggest joke of all time! how stupid can people be? it's written on the screen every time this pathetic show is on that the results are at the producers discretion..it's written in very tiny letters and only shown for a second..but none of the idiots who watch this show pay any attention..the elimination tonight was strictly for ratings! the way the "judges" go on and on about voting is disgusting..they know damn well who is going to win..this is not a talent show ..it's a joke..Pia was eliminated? WHAT A SHOCKER..just what this show is about! keep voting suckers..you people would believe anything!
OMG !!! I am just sick over this.....Pia is absolutely the BEST singer of all the contestants......What is wrong with these people ? Well, I certainly will not watch anymore of this show.....I thought Pia would be the winner of this season...no one else on that show has her talent.....she is the BEST !!!
First of all, this is American Idol's best season by far since season... 4? And Casey is just as good as Pia is, in his own way. No one anticipated Pia going home, and it is voters' faults, because I know when I was voting, I voted for Casey, and Paul a lot, while voting for Pia twice because I figured there's no way others wont vote for her. Others probably did the same. She'll still make it though; SOMEONE, I know will give her a record deal. And Simon was not American Idol, he was simply a part of it, and his time was running out. The judges are honest and helpful this year, without being ridiculous. Also, No one is not voting for Pia because they're jealous, that's irrational, I'd never say "Oh, she's pretty AND talented?! Voting for everyone else."
Finally the voice of reason! All this crying and shouting about the show being rigged and never going to watch it again blah blah blah.... People there can only be one winner and it will NOT ALWAYS be the one you want to win! Everyone has different tastes, some love Pia and some don't. I liked her a lot, but I didn't vote for her cause she is not the best one on the show in MY opinion and I have a RIGHT to vote for the one I like the best. And I am not a pimple faced teenager, I am a grown adult with children of my own.
Sad how America got it all wrong tonight but then Americans tend to get most things wrong. I am sure Pia will survive and go on to be the fantastic singer that she has proven to be.
Between American Idol and the Presidents we've elected over the past 12 years, I would say Americans have NO business voting for anything. Further proof that Democracy is NOT a good idea if those allowed to vote are ignorant morons!

I've never understood the "public voting" on this show. It ends up being a personality contest, or a "cutest guy" contest and NOT about the best singers. Such a shame - but she'll do very well in her career - we've all heard her now!
