Video: 'Idol' Judges Rocked By Top 9 Elimination Shocker

The judges saved Casey Abrams a couple of weeks ago, so that option isn't around anymore. That means 'American Idol' is counting on you to get it right each and every week. But there's been almost no consistency in the bottom three this season.

So far we've seen Haley, Stefano, Paul and Casey in the Bottom Three this season among the remaining contestants. And this week continued the trend of seeing some new faces in the bottom. It's harder than ever to predict what the American public is looking for.

But one thing everyone seemed to agree on is that this week's eliminated contestant should not have been going home so soon.

"I'm never upset on this show and I'm never really mad," Randy Jackson said. "But this makes me mad."

Perhaps no one was as stunned as Stefano Langone. Standing beside early favorite Pia Toscano, Langone had to have figured it was him headed home. He simply stood there dumbstruck when Ryan Seacrest announced that he was safe.

For the fifth elimination in a row, it was one of the women in the competition who was sent home. We simply refuse to believe that all six of the guys in the Top 13 are superior to the five girls that have been sent packing.

If Langone's face showed shock, there was shock, tears and outrage on the judge's panel.

Jennifer Lopez tearfully said, "I have no idea what just happened here."

Even Seacrest closed the show by appealing directly to the audience, as if he didn't agree with these results either. "We need you," he told us all. "Stay with us this season."

Paul has no business in the top 24, he cant carry a note to save his life, if were decent he would give up his spot and let Pia back in. OH well I could care less about the rest of the season, hope your rating just hit rock bottom

Maybe if you are only allowed to vote once this wouldnt happen,but they would rather get a cut of the text message money and allow people to vote 10 times...how is that fair???? you reap what you sow.....

The best singer never seem to win it in American Idol. This has been proven over and over again. It will never change. Lee, Kris whathisname, Taylor... Oh the list goes on.

The only saving grace is that we will probably see more of Pia even before Idol is done

I liked Pia, but I don't think she should of went home. I think that Sefano,Paul and Lauren are at the bottom. Pia was good, but I think she could of been better more. Stefano, Paul and Lauren should of been in the bottom 3. James is to much to confident, he thinks he has it won. I want Casey or Haley to win. I dont think they will because all the teen girls are going to keep Stefano.

Jen needs to go. I would rather take Kara over her.

I think you need to earn your right to be a judge, like Stephen Tyler and Randy Jackson. J-lo has no personality. I don't know her music and I don't want to.

sanjaya was kept on for ratings just like every thing this "show" does..the producers love the controversy which is also why Pia went home ..the more "shockers' the better for ratings...don't think for a minute that anyone's vote makes a difference it's stated very clearly at the end of the show that results are at the producers discretion..pause it at the end and read the fine print..this "show" is most defintely a JOKE

I didn't think Pia was all that special! Beautiful girl with a great voice, but nothing I don't hear around here at church or school functions. She's rather boring as well. I think America had it right, maybe a little sooner than expected, but it was bound to happen!

With Pia out, by far the best vocal, I wont be watching the show anymore, judges wasted the save on a guy who has no chance of winning NOW look what happens.Randy and Steve I hope you cant sleep at night.
I dont know if I will ever watch the show again truely unjust here.Pia takes Randys advice and gets away from the ballads and look what happens. SING BALLADS ALL DAY Pia love your voice

I don't think anybody, especially the judges, should have been shocked at Pia's departure. Incresingly, the voting is 'controlled' by youngsters, mostly young girls. They love the young guys, they are never enthusiastic about the women, and particularly the 'grownup' ones like Pia. She was far to mature for that crowd, but she'll do great. Idol should worry though, that their fan base is beginning to undermine the talent.

How do you figure it to be a PR stunt, rating will fall. I know I wont be watching the rest of the season. Only one good singer left, the turret kid, not even good enough to remember his name, but everyone knows PIA

J lo, favors the Latino singers, Jlo you need to tell them Latinos that when they sing a song in spainish they are cutting there own throats, its AMERICAN IDOL press 1 for ENGLISH

Stunned, but with the change in how votes are cast this year, the control of the voting is in the hands of young girls and that's why you see girls going home each week. Haley will be next and Lauren won't be far behind. IMHO

Can not believe what happened tonite. Blame the judges for allowing Casey to stay, instead of saving their "save" for later in the season. Now they have Casey and lost Pia. Will not be watching AI anymore. Too cruel..Pia maybe the best of the group. All my friends said they will no longer watch the show after tonite.

I will keep watching the show, personally because I like the talent this season. However, remember Chris Daughtry? Jennifer Hudson won an Oscar for Christ sakes! Not idol winners but winners in their own right. Maybe they should put a restriction on the voting age that i do agree with. I dont think Pia should have gone home right now, but thats the shows vocal point. Its all about the numbers. The judges were right in their picks this season. Pia will be a star just like other idol contestants. She is going to be better than ok.

This is a travesty. Pia should have been in the final three alpmg with James and Scottie. As soon as I heard Pia's name called I shut the TV off. I'm done, cooked and over Idol. Now I dont care who wins. Sure Pia will have a career in music but that really isn;t the point here. You go girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was shocked. Stefano, Jacob or Haley should have gone before Pia. She might not have won, but I thought she would have been in the final 3.

I believe Pia has an amazing voice; so good but they are looking for entertainers that will hopefully draw thousands to a concert or sell millions of records. In that light, I think she fell short. I think she should pick up a modeling contract or be swept up by producers that can "sell" what she has to offer. Good Luck, Pia. You certainly are NOT done.
