The judges saved Casey Abrams a couple of weeks ago, so that option isn't around anymore. That means 'American Idol' is counting on you to get it right each and every week. But there's been almost no consistency in the bottom three this season.
So far we've seen Haley, Stefano, Paul and Casey in the Bottom Three this season among the remaining contestants. And this week continued the trend of seeing some new faces in the bottom. It's harder than ever to predict what the American public is looking for.
But one thing everyone seemed to agree on is that this week's eliminated contestant should not have been going home so soon.
"I'm never upset on this show and I'm never really mad," Randy Jackson said. "But this makes me mad."
Perhaps no one was as stunned as Stefano Langone. Standing beside early favorite Pia Toscano, Langone had to have figured it was him headed home. He simply stood there dumbstruck when Ryan Seacrest announced that he was safe.
For the fifth elimination in a row, it was one of the women in the competition who was sent home. We simply refuse to believe that all six of the guys in the Top 13 are superior to the five girls that have been sent packing.
If Langone's face showed shock, there was shock, tears and outrage on the judge's panel.
Jennifer Lopez tearfully said, "I have no idea what just happened here."
Even Seacrest closed the show by appealing directly to the audience, as if he didn't agree with these results either. "We need you," he told us all. "Stay with us this season."
Pia had a great voice but was very boring on stage. I like to be enterained when i watch a performer. I feel the right people were in the bottom three.
Pia will be just fine! For all anyone knows, they may have done this for ratings, with big plans for Pia on the side and have "major drama" for everyone to talk about the show! Wake up people....this is TV - believe nothing that you see! Total fraud on the public and believe me she will have a much better career as a result! They want you all to be "outraged",don't you get it????
this is the BEST thing that could have happened to Pia. she will be talked about for a very long time and she will be on many shows because of this and someone will probably produce a record for her before this American Idol season is over. she will be fine but once again, when someone is put too high on a pedestal, the fall is deep. they praised her way too much and voters were either jealous or wanted the judges brought back to reality.
Shocking?Yes.But, she'll get her recording contract, as if someone wasn't already waiting in the wings to get her.Sometimes being the top winner is a joke-just ask Fantasia, Ruben, Taylor, Cook,etc. where are they now?Some of the people who got booted off do better than them, like Jen Hudson,Daughtry, etc.
Like all tv shows it's fixed for entertainment so in order to not let yourself get rapped up in the drama just don't watch this silly show. I dont watch it at all but I do find mself laughing at everyone who get rapped up in this.
This is what happens when the judges give everyone a glowing review whether they deserve it or not. This is where Simon Cowell's input is really missing; he was always very clear about declaring who he thought was safe & who should be sent home and most often the voters took his advice. That's also why there has been no consistency in the bottom 3 this year!
I believe that PIA will go on to bigger and better things...Sam thing happened to jennifer hudson...there isn't any one of the ones left music I would buy except Lauren....Who in the hell wants to listen to growling ,scratchy screaming voices...that's what is left...they need to change the voting system so everyone gets 10 votes ...that's it...
Pia is more talented than most of the others. Judges never should have used the save so early. Maybe one of the others will get caught in a nasty sex scandal or something so they get kicked off, and then AI can bring Pia back. I tried voting several times and could not get through, and Pia was absolutely who I was going to vote for.
I hope this is the best thing that ever happened to her, because look at the hot mess Kris Allen that won two years ago, and where is Taylor Hicks? he's off off Broadway, Fantasia stinks, where's last years winner....you go Pia, you are beautiful and talented, what's left except james and scott is a joke!
It was inappropriate for the judges to hurl anger at the voters. This show is about what WE like, not what "experts" tell us we should like. After all, its "American" Idol, not "Steven/Jennifer/Randy" Idol. The way the show's set up, somebody has to go, so to say "This ain't right" doesn't make any sense and is an insult to the contestants who survived. I like these judges, but they were out of line with their reaction this time.
I can't believe that Pia was eliminated. I may have to rethink my dedication to Idol. To many teenyboppers voting hundreds of times. I'm sick of it. Change the voting rules, please!!!!

I've never been an Idol fan, but I've always liked Steven Tyler, so I watched it this year, and it was wonderful! That is - until last night! She was never once even in the bottom 3! Wed. night, Steven said bars across America were full of men drinking to her - and the very next night they dump her? WTF? How many were drinking to Jacob, or Stephano, who has been in the hot seat many times? Was this travesty due to too many teeny boppers with cell phones voting, or was it planned by the producers to boost ratings? If so - it backfired!
The judges should be mad at themselves. They give everyone a pat on the back instead of constructive criticism. Pia is a great singer, but she is not a performer. The judges should have been helping her mature as a performer each week. If the judges are mad at us, I am even madder. I can't stand country but I'd rather watch a concert with Scotty than Pia.
I found Pia rather one-dimensional with little stage presence or personaity. She has a great voice, but that's not enough for lasting success in the music industry. You need a "hook", and there are several others, like James, Casey, Paul, and Haley, who have that extra something. I was surpried Pia went before Stefano and Jacob, but not at all surprised she didn't win.
I think the judges screwed up, by using their save card way too early, they should have known something like this was going to happen, it has happened before.
