'You Can't Push Barbara': Star Jones Talks Absence From 'The View'
Star Jones is everywhere on the small screen these days, except for one show: 'The View.' The 'Celebrity Apprentice' star, best-selling author and NeNe Leakes' arch enemy visited my HDNet show to chat up her new novel
'Satan's Sisters,' and she addressed reports Barbara Walters is personally blocking her from ever showing up at 'The View' again.
"You can't push Barbara into doing anything! Are you out of your mind?" Star said when asked if her friends on her old show (Joy, Sherri and Whoopi) could persuade their boss into having her on (or to do "anything" for that matter).
This week, Star appeared on HLN's 'The Joy Behar show,' where the two of them met up years after Star was famously pushed out of the 'The View.' Joy made it very clear she had nothing to do with the guest bookings at her other job but seemed to enjoy every minute chatting and challenging her former co-host.
A spokesperson for ABC tells me the Barbara reports are utter nonsense. "Since the show began, Ms. Walters has made it her practice not to book the program," the statement read.
Star tells me she has yet to be contacted by the bookers of the daytime hit, "but I've heard obviously from Joy and Sherri and Whoopi. I mean, these are my friends."
But the reason Barbara
might have had a hand in keeping Star from returning to her former home, this time as a guest, is because the book
'Satan's Sister' is based on five women on a talk show where "alliances are forged, careers are made, and bridges are burned."
The matriarch of the fictional show, called 'The Lunch Club,' is a character named Maxine Robinson, the first African-American to become a network news anchor. By comparison, Barbara was the first woman to have that job. Oh, and in the book, Maxine is conniving and borderline nasty.

Is anyone really surprised by this? Barbara Walters is an unforgiving BIOTCH. She is a control freak and I cannot watch the View when she is on, she talks about herself way too much. She is in love with her self.

Renee, Barbara Walters is hardly a NOBODY, as you state. She's been around for years and years and has interviewed the most important people in the world. Star Jones is the NOBODY! Nothing more than a nasty, big mouth, *itch.

Renee the only biatch on The View and now The Apprentice is Star Jones herself. Walters has every right to be like she is as she has been around for years and knows how to handle a big mouth that is so egotisical and in love with themself like Star Jones. If she is on any show, I do not watch and believe me there are many others who feel the same way.

I hardly agree that Barbara is a "nobody" as she has been around for several decades and has interviewed quite a few prominent people and no not "stars". The Dahli Lama for one. Barbara's record speaks for itself. I am sorry you like Star and she isnt on the View but its AOL and there news, dont sweat it.

I am always concerned for "famous People" who appear on this show, and let 4 BIRD-BRAINED IDIOTS interview them??? the only one who is intelligent on the show is elisabeth ? whoppi goldberg is the most stupid person i have ever had to listen to. i don't know how she made it as far as she has. joy baher is so crude that i can barely stand to listen to her. sherry is just cute and hardly ever gets a chance to talk, everyone talks all over her. barbara is o.k. although i'm not overly fond of her and for a person of her age writing a book about all the men she has had affairs with, i think is disgusting. since there is nothing else on at that time, i watch the show. sometimes they have good guests.
