'You Can't Push Barbara': Star Jones Talks Absence From 'The View'

Star Jones is everywhere on the small screen these days, except for one show: 'The View.' The 'Celebrity Apprentice' star, best-selling author and NeNe Leakes' arch enemy visited my HDNet show to chat up her new novel 'Satan's Sisters,' and she addressed reports Barbara Walters is personally blocking her from ever showing up at 'The View' again.

"You can't push Barbara into doing anything! Are you out of your mind?" Star said when asked if her friends on her old show (Joy, Sherri and Whoopi) could persuade their boss into having her on (or to do "anything" for that matter).

This week, Star appeared on HLN's 'The Joy Behar show,' where the two of them met up years after Star was famously pushed out of the 'The View.' Joy made it very clear she had nothing to do with the guest bookings at her other job but seemed to enjoy every minute chatting and challenging her former co-host.

A spokesperson for ABC tells me the Barbara reports are utter nonsense. "Since the show began, Ms. Walters has made it her practice not to book the program," the statement read.

Star tells me she has yet to be contacted by the bookers of the daytime hit, "but I've heard obviously from Joy and Sherri and Whoopi. I mean, these are my friends."

But the reason Barbara might have had a hand in keeping Star from returning to her former home, this time as a guest, is because the book 'Satan's Sister' is based on five women on a talk show where "alliances are forged, careers are made, and bridges are burned."

The matriarch of the fictional show, called 'The Lunch Club,' is a character named Maxine Robinson, the first African-American to become a network news anchor. By comparison, Barbara was the first woman to have that job. Oh, and in the book, Maxine is conniving and borderline nasty.

Starr Jones is a talentless nobody who became a nasty, bitter woman in front of the American People. She showed how racially motivated most of her actions are and really shouldn't be given the time of day

I'd like to see a lot less of Ms. Jones, actually...on "The View" and everywhere else...and this is NOT a reference to her weight, either (frankly, I think she looks sort of weird skinny).

I stopped watching the show months ago...Joy is a mean and hateful person, Barbara is ancient and needs to retire,Whoopie I can handle SOME times, Sherri is wishy-washy, and Elizabeth, I'm afraid, has jumped ship to the 'dark side'...the show needs to be cancelled. Just a bunch of mean, resentful, sad women. They ALL need Jesus.

Star Jones 10 minutes of fame finished long time ago. It is painful to see her desperate attempt to be a famous personality again, on the other hand, it is time for Barbara to think about retiring from TV slowly. Anyone can tell that she is starting to look worn out. Sometimes she is a little nasty with the other ladies and exhibits some erratic behavior. She should continue doing a TV special a year for 20/20 or another investigative special report with a good script. That will keep her busy and everybody will be happy. One thing for sure is that she looks great for her age.

Barbara is not allowing Star back on the show, because, Star called her out..Star did not have to tell anyone how she lost weight. It was Star rights to tell, how to tell, and, if to tell. Not Barbara. Barbara needs to be getting rid of the weakest link on the View, and, that is Elizabeth. This girl (elizabeth), has not talent, and, she is still on the show. Barbara got rid of Rosie for this little mousy, no talent, cry baby..

Star Jones spent her time in the DAs office dropping names of famous people that she was having dinner with and going up to other peoples' desks and turning over other peoples' pictures that she did not want to look at. She was garbage then and she is garbage now. Her 15 minutes of fame were up long before she ever made her first appearance on The View. She was the reason I never watched that show. She needs to crawl back under her rock.

STAR WAS LYING!! telling everyone and promoting it on there show like she was excersizing and eating right, I would have called her out on it also. Its called INTEGRITY!! Especially because Ms Jones is an attorney, why would she lie, I would have had more respect for anyone who told the truth as its still very hard to lose the weight and keep it off gosh

As I understand it who really did herself in as far as The View is concerned is Star Jones. She burned her own bridge and one cannot blame Barbara Walters for letting sleeping dogs lie. I don't think Walters is an angel and without some blame, but The View is her sandbox and that's that.
