Toni Braxton Blames Her Health for Financial Woes

After years of misinformation and rumors, Toni Braxton tells me in an exclusive interview why she was forced to file for bankruptcy twice.
"I had health issues that led to my financial issues," she said on my HDNet show. "And my issues weren't necessarily me personally, financially. It was me, business."
The singer went through a tough stretch physically in 2007 and 2008. She had a benign lump removed from her breast, though never admitted having a cancer scare. Later, she was hospitalized and diagnosed with microvascular angina.
Toni filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in California last year. Official documents indicated she owed as much as $50 million to a range of creditors, including Wells Fargo Bank and The Four Seasons Hotels. She also owes large amounts to DMVs around California and Nevada.
The 'You're Makin' Me High' Grammy winner and her sister, Tamar, stopped by 'Naughty But Nice' to promote their new WE show, 'Braxton Family Values,' and they made sure to clear up that Toni is not living beyond her means anymore.
"I live well," she admits. "But instead of having three houses like I had, it's just not like that anymore."
In 'Braxton Family Values,' the singer finally decides to tell her side of the story. "It was my sisters idea to do the show," Toni tells me. "They told me I had to allow my fans into my life. That meant having cameras following me around."
To see the entire interview with Toni and her sister Tamar, tune in Saturday to HDNet for
'Naughty But Nice,' and find out why a collaboration with
Lady Gaga is not out of the question.
'Braxton Family Values' debuts April 12 on WE tv.

ghetto!
As long as she and her family are doing well, that is what matters.

Ok, Toni. People can believe this woman filed for bankruptcy twice primarily due to health issues if that makes them feel better, but there's obviously a whole lot more personal responsibility that needs to be taken for those situations whether she cares to admit as much or not.

Maybe Toni should try-at least attempt-to live like a normal responsible person-stop blowing money on over sized mansions and jewels and fashions that you cannot support...not impressed by a person who blames other things for their financial downfalls...admit it-you cannot balance a checkbook and you over spend-you messed up and you lost it..

Stu you are probably more ghetto than anyone, hater!

Hey, you tools. Your banner headline refers to her as "Toni Blaxton." Is this a Freudian slip?

All the Braxton's sisters had nose jobs and plastic surgery done. That were all her millions went. I don't feel sorry for Toni, and I'm not interested in seeing this show.

Oprah did a show with Toni Braxton during her first bankruptcy showing how extravagantly she lived. The money she paid for multiple outfits for her shows was as bad as MC Hammer in his time. To go through bankruptcy once is understandable. To not learn from it and learn to handle your finances better is pathetic. She cannot blame her health for her bad finances. It just shows she does not care about herself as a whole - health, wealth and mental well being. She needs to take responsibility for her life and make sure she is the priority, not her family and friends.
