Is 'Idol' Castoff Pia Toscano Dating 'Dancing' Pro Mark Ballas?

It looks like romance is in the air between 'American Idol's' Pia Toscano and 'Dancing with the Stars' pro Mark Ballas.

TMZ is reporting that the Toscano and Ballas were seen on a dinner date at Gulfstream restaurant in Los Angeles on Friday, a day after the singer's surprise elimination from the competition.

PEOPLE is quoting a source who said that it was Toscano who "had a crush" on Ballas and she was positively "giddy" when she found out that 'Idol' and 'Dancing' were filming on adjacent soundstages at the CBS lot in Los Angeles.

It was fellow 'DWTS' contestant Chris Jericho who helped Toscano get a date with Ballas. The wrestler and 'Idol' castoff had mutual friends and it was through Jericho that she managed to exchange phone numbers with the dancing pro.

The source also says that the couple had "a great first date" and are planning to go out again.

And there seems to be more good news for Toscano as she reportedly signed a record deal with Interscope Records who are keen to see the 'Idol' favorite "record an album ASAP."

We know Pia can sing but can she dance. Wouldn't DWTS like to have the both of them dancing together. For all you sit at homers watching The View,eating up everything Joy Behar has to say, Pia went to a great school in NYC , The LaGuardia HS of the Performing Arts. Not everyone can get into it. You have to audition and be able to perform.

Does anyone still think that the American Idol show isn't a contrived fairy tale? Its a vehicle that is used to promote borderline talent on network television. I knew when I heard this girl's name that the show would find a way to make her either a winner or a sympathetic figure. So they make a 'martyr' out of her with the "voting" and all of a sudden she has a record deal? There is no such thing as coincidence folks.

So Pia finds some success and ditches the boyfried back in NY for greener pastures. That's nice... He probably convinced her to audtion in the first place..supported her, etc etc. She gets the hots and jumps some new guy.. I love loyalty....
