Reese Witherspoon Tells Vogue, 'I Don't Wake Up to Make Movies'
Reese Witherspoon's life may seem like a fairy tale, but at the end of the day, she's just Mom, not a movie star.
The actress, who graces the cover of
Vogue's May issue, says that despite her hectic schedule, she feels that she's achieved a peaceful balance in her life.
Witherspoon, who stars in the upcoming 'Water for Elephants' opposite
Robert Pattinson, says of her trade, "You know, it can be a crazy life. Sometimes you feel like you are on a speeding train and you just don't know where it's going. You can start to lose your identity and what it is that you are really working for."
While she's eager to continue her career in the movie industry, it's not the allure of the limelight that gets her out of bed in the morning.
"I don't wake up to make movies," she says. "I wake up to have a wonderful family and to cultivate the best life for all of us, and it's great to now have a partner in that," she says of husband Jim Toth, whom she
married in late March. "Being a parent to me is such a great privilege; that I get to chaperone these beautiful little souls through life."
Although her celebrity has continued to grow since her star-making turn in 1999's 'Cruel Intentions,' opposite ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, Witherspoon says she is acutely aware of how Hollywood's perception of her has changed with age.
"I think 35 for a woman is a big thing. I remember when I was a little girl looking up at my mother at 35 doing her hair in the mirror, and I thought, My mother has never been more beautiful. She had years of wisdom you can't erase. And now I feel the same way when I look in the mirror," she says.
"You can't pretend you are an ingenue. You can't pretend you are wide‐eyed and innocent. It's on your face! It's in your body. It's in your voice."
While Witherspoon tries to navigate the next chapter of her life with her new husband and new outlook, she says that her past decisions, both good and bad, have had the greatest influence on her current success.
"I have gone through so many changes... Obviously, being divorced and having a couple of relationships. I'm much more open than I was. I think with life experience you go: I have no idea what's next. The unexpected doesn't surprise me anymore."

Take your angry energy and refocus it to changing your attitude.
What a loser you are! Gee I think maybe you are bitter and jealous of Reese because she is way more successful then you will ever be.
Loser!
Reese, Your NOT on a speeding train, so dont worry, more like a Bus with a flat tire. Pattinson may have a hit on his hands, but it WONT be because of YOU. Your more like Kelly Ripa on a TV endorsement level.

She's so overrated. Go away already.

I guess she should put herself on the "do not call" list. And perhaps the "do not put on magazine covers anymore" list. Ha ha ha.

Oh please Reese give us a break. I'm so sick of reading about how great she thinks she is. How about the partner she's been raising her kids with for 11 years? She acts like she does it all on her own. Doesn't the father have the kids half the time? Nice that she can't bring herself to acknowledge that. Jim Toth probably works on average 60 hours a week. I seriously doubt he plans to "partner" with her raising her kids. I don't see Ari Gold doing too much parenting on Entourage and I don't think that is too far from what a typical agent is like.
