Rihanna and J.Lo Performing at Billboard Awards

Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez and the Black Eyed Peas have been tapped to take the stage for the 2011 Billboard Music Awards, taking place in Las Vegas on May 22.

The ceremony will air live on ABC from the famed MGM Grand Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas strip, and honor charting artists from February 28, 2010 through March 1, 2011. Winners will be chosen from R&B, Rap, Pop, Country, Rock, Latin and Alternative music. Artists like Taio Cruz, Keith Urban and Lady Antebellum are also set to be featured.

Rihanna, J.Lo and the Black Eyed Peas are all currently in the top 10 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, with Rihanna's 'S&M' at No. 2 (look for the Britney Spears remix to the song to enter the top 10 shortly), the Peas' 'Just Can't Get Enough' at No. 3 and Lopez' 'On the Floor' at No. 8.

"This show marks the first of several broadcast platforms we plan to build around the Billboard franchise," said Richard D. Beckman, CEO of Prometheus Global Media, a company that owns Billboard. "We have an incredible network partner and with Don Mischer, one of the finest producers in the world. We look forward to entertaining music fans with Billboard's own rendition of a televised celebration of music."

The Billboard Awards are determined by Billboard chart rankings, using album, single and digital sales combined with digital sales, touring, streaming and social networking interactions, tracked year-round by the magazine and its data partners.

Catch Rihanna's return to 'American Idol' on Thursday, April 14, and the Billboard Awards on May 22.

Seems there is an overexposure of J Lo and it is because her records, movies, etc. are not doing well and she needs publicity from somewhere. Rihanna seems not to be doing well either and I guess changing hair color constantly and appearing one award shows will help both of their careers. Not!!!
