Catherine Zeta-Jones Checks Into Mental Health Facility

With husband
Michael Douglas on the mend after
completing treatment for throat cancer,
Catherine Zeta-Jones has found herself in need of some expert care.
Gossip Cop reports that the actress has checked herself into a mental health facility.
"After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her Bipolar II Disorder," her rep confirms.
In addition to her duties as an actress and mother, Zeta-Jones has dealt with more than enough stress in the past few years to merit some much-needed time off and TLC.
In 2010, Zeta-Jones' stepson, Cameron Douglas, was
sentenced to five years in prison for drug-related charges, and only four months later, her actor husband was
diagnosed with cancer. In between the devastating events, Michael Douglas was also
sued by his ex-wife, Diandra, who claimed she was entitled to 50 percent of the profits from his film 'Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.'
Sources
report, "Catherine had a lot of trouble coping [with Douglas' cancer]. She was chain smoking and drinking," although her rep has not confirmed that her stay was related to substance abuse.
It does seem the actress is on the mend, however. Her rep says, "She's feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on her two upcoming films."

Her husband almost died, and for all we know hasn't been given a clean bill of health. I'd be a mess too. I've always said that mental health is as important as physical health. Good for her for addressing it.....most people don't.
So you're telling me if you had the last hell of a year like she has and you had the resources you would not seek help? Yes, she has had plenty to stress over and has the resources to get the help she needs so Kudos to her!!
It is quite obvious Tony that you have never had to deal with some that has a catastrophic illness. It is extremely taxing physically and mentally on the family and in Catherine Zetas' case, her husband was lucky enough to survive, but what he and his family endured during his time of treatment is very difficult. I hope you never have to go through it. I did four times in my life and was fortunate enough to cope and go on.
thats what i was waiting for, joan just so you know,i had 3 family members die of cancer, now im not famous so you wouldnt know this im saying suck it up life goes on.
you sound like a cold hearted nasty bastard!
Oh aren't you just a bundle of sunshine? NOT!! Look Tony..until you walk in her shoes you got no idea just what she is going through. This is only a fraction of whatever is bothering her. Not like her life is your business or ours for that matter now then is it? Not like the media is gonna be able to report every little detail in her life but again....you got no clue so really why don't ya just shut that piehole of yours unless you can say something nice about her coz again, til you walk in her shoes you got no idea. AND...seeing you are a man.....oh geezzzz....gutless, heartless..that is you!!!!
mia,you know nothing about me,go ahead and say what you want ive been called worse by a hell of alot better.
linda, ive had it happen just cause shes famous means nothing to me now you bow down to queen cathy,i will not.
Tony, I think you missed the part saying she is bi-polar. You can't just "Suck it up" when you have a mental illness. I do see your point of stuff happens and you suck that up but when the mind and body chemistry are involved you can't just "Suck it up". Keep that in mind.
She is not the first lady to deal with stress but it is harder to deal with stress when you are bipolar and to deal with it for so long, I give her a lot of credit. My son is bipolar and I know it is not easy. Unlike other who want to judge when they do not suffer from the disorder. Maybe people should think and research before they speak and type.
You know, Tony this is all being made public because she's famous and once something gets "out there" the media tells everyone. I'd bet she would have kept this all private and didn't "leak" this info for people to feel sorry for her. Sorry you went through tough times, but you dealt with your struggles they way you chose and she'll deal with her's the way she sees fit... You don't have to be so mean about it.
Your empathy is unwhelming. Each and every persons situation is different. Money is good but it does little when things are falling apart. She's doing what she needs to do to "get over it." I wish nothing bad to you but if and when something drastic happens in your life hopefully no one turns and say - get over it you sniveling little weasal (however true the little weasel part might be).
I sort of agree with Tony. Bipolar or not, who resorts to chain smoking as a way to cope, when her husband has to try to deal with getting over throat cancer because of years of chain smoking? What an example for their two small children.
Sorry Tony, but not everyone has developed the hard uncaring shell that you posess. Some people actually have feelings. I know that's hard for you to understand being the soulless person you appear to be.
I AGREE WITH TONY! What do all the military families do with their stress, other cancer victim's loved ones, victims of crimes etc THEY BUCK UP AND GO TO WORK instead of feeling sorry for themselves! Wish i could leave the kids with the Help, suck on a cigarette and down a champagne bottle, boo hoo! but gee I got bills to pay and family to take care of,sometimes ya just gotta deal people! CZJ just wants a lot of attention in my opinion. No sympathy for drug dealing step sons or rich attention seeking celebs,
Tony,
It would be so nice to be able to "get over it" but unless you understand what it is to live with BiPolar disease you would not have made that statement. If those of us who suffer with the disease or "affliction" could just "get over it" we would. It isn't just a case of having the blues or feeling stressed out, it takes control of your life and emotions. Do yourself a favor and research BiPolar on a mental health website. It is not a picnic but can be a fast moving train to disaster. It is a good thing that this person is seeking help. Many can't afford help.
Tony is obviously running for humanitarian of the year ... Working tirelessly, side by side, with Mother Theresa effected him on the deepest level ... Between donating monies in support of homeless children and hunting down pedophiles (single-handedly bringing them to justice), TONY, aspires to be the kind of person everyone would like their own child to emulate ... Ah, the ugliest of Americans ... where would we be without you, Tony? ... ;-)
Tony, in regards to your "you know nothing about me,go ahead and say what you want ive been called worse by a hell of alot better", well, judging by your posts, it's easy to imagine why.
You are a depraved and heartless idiot who has a very big mouth.
