Jennifer Lopez Is PEOPLE's Most Beautiful

Jennifer Lopez graces the cover of PEOPLE's Most Beautiful issue.

The 'American Idol' judge tells the magazine that she prefers to be makeup free and low maintenance.

"That's when I'm my happiest," Lopez explains. "Just being able to touch my face and rub my eyes and put my fingers in my hair and not having to worry about messing it up. It's so much better."

But she knows that being beautiful comes with her job description. "The thing is, it's part of my job."

"I don't want anybody thinking it's easy. It does take time and it's hard work. HDTV wide-screen is nobody's friend!" she adds.

Her daughter Emme enjoys a little primping just like mom. "She is very girly-girl, just like me since I was very little. She loves for me to paint her nails. She lays out her clothes on the floor like I do with my stylist and she's like, 'This matches very good!'"

But Emme doesn't have all the fun. "[My son Max] wants to paint his nails too. Because for him, it's just paint. He's like, 'I want the blue!'"

The singer-actress turned reality star admits she has grown into her "diva" label. "I kind of like it. We've kind of owned it now. But I certainly don't like and I've never been a person who has what they call 'diva behavior,' which is something they tried to pin on me for a long time."

Who else made the issue? Teen heartthrob Zac Efron is on the list, with newlywed Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Simpson and Mandy Moore.

Katie Holmes, Jennifer Hudson, 'Twilight' vamp Kellan Lutz, Dana Delany, 'Office' stars Ellie Kemper and Mindy Kaling, Sandra Bullock, Jennifer Lawrence, Eva Longoria and Ryan Reynolds are also represented.

She has always been attractive and who are we to judge what she's has done to maintain her beauty. It's kind of surprising that they are putting a woman of her age as number one,that is definitely positive. I also believe they should include people of different weights, but, People is just a magazine for advertising for celebrities, directors,...we shouldn't expect anything more from them. I'm sure Publicists pay the mag well

How can an african american woman be the world's most pretty, when most of them are just plan phony....they lighten their skin, wear all types of ridiculous looking wigs and tons of makeup!!! Now just how in the heck to you get pretty from that!

Anyone can be beautiful on the outside, however inner beauty is what is really important. Anyone who lets their EGO dictate their behavior and actions isn't beautiful in my book. Lets see a real human with inner beauty on that cover PLEASE!!!!

How do you know J-Lo isn't beautiful on the inside too? Do you know her personally? You are correct in saying inner beauty is just as important, but don't judge people you don't know. It's ridiculous.

She has had 3 nose jobs to narrow her naturally born wide nose, so why doesn't she say that when they ask her, "How do you manage to stay beautiful?" It doesn't have to do with the camera angles, or HDTV, it has to do with liposuction on her rear end and thighs and the multiple nose jobs! We'd all be beautiful if we had as much plastic surgery as the celebrities have. I was in my dermatologist's office and he was talking about how much better a very famous rock star looked after the procedures he had done on him, so even the former rock stars, men, are having things done to look younger! Steven Tyler has had a face lift too!
