Gwyneth Paltrow Is In The Best Shape of Her Life

From her
buzzed-about guest-starring role on 'Glee' to her new cookbook, 'My Father's Daughter,'
Gwyneth Paltrow is all but inescapable these days.
The 'Country Strong' actress, who recently landed a
record deal, graces the latest cover of
SELF magazine to talk about something she has become synonymous with: healthy living. She already extols the virtues of eating right and exercise on her lifestyle website
GOOP, but with 'My Father's Daughter,' she's taking it a step further, providing readers with the essentials to a well-stocked pantry and sharing recipes meant to celebrate "family and togetherness."
Asked if she is in the best shape of her life, Paltrow told SELF, "Yes. I never thought that I'd be considered to have a good body. I was bony up top and kind of dumpy on the bottom. But my trainer, Tracy Anderson, completely changed my legs, butt, arms and stomach. I feel better than ever, too."
On her challenge areas:
"My butt! My butt, butt, butt. When Tracy met me, she said that I had a long, square butt that she was going to redesign, and I was, like, 'Yeah? Good luck.' The amazing thing is, she was right! And it's still changing!"
How she stays sane about her body:
"I've found what works for me. I know if I put in an hour and a half, five days a week, I'm good. If I'm on vacation and, like, 'F**k it, I'm not working out,' I know what to do when I get back. A lot of women think, 'Oh, my God, I could never get there,' but I don't think that's true. It's simply relative to how much you put into it."
How consistent she stays, food-wise:
"I say I always eat right, but last night, I had fried clams, pasta with duck sausage and two glasses of red wine. When I want to lose, I eat less pasta, bread and potatoes. Before last year's 'Iron Man 2' premiere, I did green juices and salads for three days."
Her fitness secret:
"I do 45 minutes of cardio five days a week, because I like to eat. I also try for 45 minutes of muscular structure work, which is toning, realigning and lengthening. If I'm prepping for something or I've been eating a lot of pie, I do two hours a day, six days a week for two weeks."

I like how Gwyneth says that most women feel they can't achieve a body like hers, but they really can "it's just relative to how much they put into it."
Then she talks about working out for two hoirs a day, and living on juices and salads to prepare for a premiere.
Sure, we can all do that! Sounds good to me!

Hitting the gym 3 days a week is good. Having a personal trainer, is even better. But who can do this, in the normal world, these days. I have had a pt in the past. But, I just do my own thing, and it works. But good for her...

Are you kidding me?? If you cant get your lazy butt to the gym 3x a week, then you are in denial. Stop watching TV, or posting on the internet. The time you would save could get your fat body to the gym. But maybe you would rather not and blame Gwyneth.
Love these Hollywood people who think everyone should have the time to work out 2 hours a day. Most of us have lives, jobs, kids (without nannies to raise them!) and responsibilities!

Well, she is in business with Tracy Anderson. It's not so surprising she's advertising for her now. Think about it - Gwyneth has always looked great, long before Anderson.

Isn't it something what a life of wealth and privilege can provide? Can she be any more superficial?

everyday people may not have time to work out etc.. totally understandable, ive been there , but no matter how busy i always ate good food , drank plenty of water, about 2 sodas a week and stretched just about every night, want to lose weight, stop eating bread and dont eat after 630 pm , the weight will drop off at a healthy weight, but if yourre gonna eat gas station food for your main diet , forget it

Her routine is absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary. 45 minutes cardio five days a week? I pity her, she is going to wear herself out trying to be something she is not. Twenty minutes cardio is enough to keep you healthy. Stretching, such as yoga, is essential and yoga routines that utilize your own body weight or resistance really work. She is obsessive.

She is a lovely bird.
But like all stars is clueless to the plight of ordinary working people.
"Money changes everything" one pop singer once sang. Its true.
She was raised in great wealth and had every opportunity to achieve success.
She couldnt walk in me dear Mum's shoes a month.

Is anyone else sick of this overexposed, obnoxious egomaniac? She has no clue about the world outside of her privileged little bubble. My fault for reading the article.

I've trained all my life, semi pro hockey and a swimmer. You should be able to do 5 days a week 1 hour a day and look amazing. 20-30 minutes cardio and the rest weight training. Muscle burns fat so make muscle and watch your body lose fat percentage. Diet is very important too.
