Kelly Ripa on 'All My Children' Cancellation: I Feel Heart Sick

The surprising cancellation of 'All My Children' on Thursday left many fans sad and disappointed. But it's not just the fans that are upset. One of the soap's most famous alumni, Kelly Ripa, shared she was "heart sick" over the news, RadarOnline.com reports.

"This is like losing a member of your family," Ripa said. The 41-year-old actress played Hayley Vaughan Santos for 20 years on the show.

"'All My Children' was more than a job -- it was my family. It was there that I met my husband; it was there when my first two children were born; it was there where I met many of my life-long friends," the 'Live with Regis and Kelly' star said.

The actress-turned-talk show host met her husband Mark Consuelos when they co-starred on the show. He left the show last year after 15 years.

ABC announced Thursday that 'All My Children' and 'One Life to Live' will be going off the air at the end of this summer.

I am so so sad. I have moved all over the country and the one thing that remained constant for me was All My Children. I've watched it since the beginning. Like Kelly Ripa I also feel like I am losing part of my family.

ABC announced Thursday that 'All My Children' and 'One Life to Live' will be going off the air at the end of this summer.I love reading this , So does My boyfriend .he is almost 11year older than me .i met him via agelessc'upid.c'om a nice place for seeking age le ss love.which gives you a chance to make your life better and open opportunities for you to meet the attractive young girls and treat you like a king. Me too. My mom, sis and I are absolutely devastated. We have been watching and taping AMC since the 70's. We talk about what's happening with the storylines; the good and the bad. ABC is just so wrong. They are also taking Soapnet off the air next year. Fans have been calling ABC at 818-460-7477 to express their frustration with the cancellations and are mailing soap bars to the network to protest. My husband heard it today on ET and was also shocked.

This article has blatant mistakes in it. Kelly was on AMC from 1990-2002 and Mark was on from 1995-2002. I'm sick of reading articles with such blatant mistakes in them. Please correct this.

Actually Kelly was on from 1990 until 2001 and returned in 2010 for 2 shows.
Mark was on from 1995 until 2001 and returned with Kelly in 2010

According to today's USA Today, One Life to Live will be going off the air in January. All My Children was the first soap opera I ever watched, and it breaks my heart to know that ABC is cancelling it. I won't be watching their talk shows, that's for sure. There's enough talk on TV. Daytime dramas may not have the audience that they used to, but we still exist.

Of course she was heart-sick. She spent a lot of time with these people for a lot of years every day. You get over it and move on. Good for her if she has bettered herself!!!
