'Idol' Finalist Jacob Lusk Was Arrested the Same Week He Auditioned

'American Idol' finalist Jacob Lusk barely made it on the show this season. The powerhouse singer was arrested in November--the same week he landed his golden ticket to Hollywood, the New York Daily News reports.

Lusk was caught riding a Los Angeles train without buying a ticket in 2009. After not showing up to his court appearance for the infraction, a warrant was issued for his arrest. And when he was pulled over for a traffic violation in November, he was arrested and thrown in jail.

He pleaded no contest to the 2009 charge and was sentenced to three days in jail and two years probation. According to TMZ.com, Lusk then pleaded with the judge to remove probation from the sentence, since it would mean 'Idol' would be forced to cut him.

The judge agreed--and his probation ended November 16, allowing him to compete.

"I've been through a whole lot more than folks would know in this lifetime," Lusk said on Twitter Friday morning. "BUT GOD has KEPT ME...and I am so thankful! Be blessed."

really...I would of never guessed it....seems so holy....maybe he has made mistakes ...and learned a lessen...if not ,it will catch up with him sooner or later...ya just can't trust anyone anymore.......

I agree too, ric. I haven't liked Jacob from the first time I saw him in Hollywood. A little of his schtick goes a really long way. I'd ask how he keeps getting enough votes to stick around this long, but I already know: the church crowd L-O-V-E-S him.

So if you plead to the judge that you have a "appointment" you can get off probation? Shouldn't matter that he was a contestant on a t.v. show. Who cares! I never cared for his singing, too animated. He should try out for a theater group instead. Voting for James anyways!!!

Should have never been placed on probation in the first place. A TRAIN TICKET!!! FUNNY!!!

He does not deserve to win the title, because first he does not have a good voice, and secondly, because he already has a problem with the justice. No matter if it was only for the train ticket,

I don't think he should be the next American Idol, because he is not a good person. Today he steals the train ticket,and tomorrow he will be stealing a Bank, because he already has that in his mind. He is not as clean as the other Idols are .I know, for sure, he is going to be voted off in a next couple weeks. I HOPE SO!!!

He has entitlement issues and it doesn't take a degree to see that. A monkey could figure that one out. He steals things because he thinks he deserves it because he thinks he's better than everyone.

Oh, and another thing, while his singing has some high points and shows strength, he really sucks because he sings entire phrases off key a few cents. Most people don't notice because they are tone deaf. He's NOT that good of a singer. Pia was far better. He belongs in a church choir.

every one have their own style of music that they like, he has a soulful voice made for r&b, and wil definitely go far in the business. as for him going to jail, heck, most of the people u watch on tv, buy their cd's and go see in concert have been to jail for one reason or another., going to jail does not make you necesssrly a bad person, peple make mistakes, especially when u are poor and trying to find your way, hopefully this show will giv him the exposure he needs to go on to bigger and brighter things. good to know their are so many perfect and judgemental people in this world. ever heard of a second chance?
