Did Cee-Lo Storm Off Stage at Coachella, After Getting Cut Off?

Day 1 of Coachella did not end without drama. Helping get the popular California music festival underway,
Cee-Lo arrived late at his main-stage gig to face a throng of hot, impatient fans.
According to the
Los Angeles Times, he told the crowd he only had 20 minutes to perform, and luckily, he was able to get through his smash hit 'F--- You' during his abbreviated Friday afternoon set. But suddenly, midway through his next song, a cover of Journey's 'Don't Stop Believing,' his sound was cut.
Time was up and, clearly annoyed, Cee-Lo left the stage. Some confused fans reportedly thought a technical glitch was to blame, but soon realized that the plug was pulled on the singer intentionally.
On the other hand, Lauryn Hill (who recently penned an open apology for making fans wait at an Atlanta tour stop) was allegedly late for her Coachella set by at least 20 minutes, and many thought she'd be the next victim of the plug. Instead, she was allowed to play over her allotted time.
Hill told the audience it was time to "straighten out the energy in here" as she launched into a Bob Marley cover.
Spinner notes: "An enthusiastic sing-shout replaced Hill's once-soulful voice on classics like 'Everything Is Everything,''Lost Ones' and 'Ex-Factor.' The effect is still positive, listeners throwing arms in the air and dancing....'Jackass' star Bam Margera was spotted in the VIP area grooving along."
Hill ended her set six minutes late. And unlike the abrupt end to Cee-Lo's set, no one pulled the plug on her.
"Coachella!" she screamed. "I love you! We have to do this again!"

That's just hypocritical. They should've pulled the plug on Hill too if they were the same amount of minutes late!
I would've stormed off too if that happened to me intentionally!
Gotta love showbiz....-_-

Advice to Mr. Green: Get over it. Get a Timex.
Just saw this guy on SNL. Excellent singer.
(Oh by the way Mr. Green, showing up late can be a carreer killer.)
Anyone that knows, these festivals NEED to be tight on time. It is essential and required. If not, with SO MANY performers...lateness backs up and adds up resulting in missed performances and way too late endings/broken curfews. Ain't the '70 no 'mo. Google OzFest concerning this.
they were just saying "F*ck You" back to CeeLo.

Real talent? I have to ask, can you sing with that much power behind your voice? Can you even sing for that matter? Cee-Lo might've acted a bit immature, but seriously, the man has some serious soul behind his voice, and he knows how to use it to make music, which isn't easy. Plus, be honest, if you were in the middle of a song, and someone deliberatly pulled to plug from your microphone, would you NOT be pissed?

First using words like allegedly only shows that you weren't there. Cee-Lo was about 40 minutes late. He had a show in London on Thursday and had to flight back to L.A. almost immediately to coincide with the difference in time zones. That's why he said "They should have gave me a better time slot." Therefor only leaving him 20 minutes to perform. Lauryn was only about 15 minutes late as they were still trying to fix the sound issues which continued when she got on stage. Anyway Lauryn rocked the crowd and left some chanting for an encore. The sound was off for most of the first few acts.

Maybe he's crazy.

I'm guessing whoever pulled the plug was a Journey fan. Whoever it was, the crowd should have thanked him/her. People who can't sing should stick to hip-hop music.

I remember when Ozzy fans would wait 4 hours for him to arrive late, and be there til the end. This sounds like some anal festivity I'd avoid.

Any other job where you show up 40min. late you'd be fired. But in the concert biz, these prima donnas constantly get away with it, like it's somehow "Hip" to keep the fans waiting as long as possible. Remember Axl Rose? How's his career lately?
