'True Blood' Star Stephen Moyer Flips Car in Dramatic Racetrack Mishap
Anna Paquin breathed a sigh of relief on Friday after her
husband and 'True Blood' co-star, Stephen Moyer, survived a dangerous crash behind the wheel of a race car in Southern California.
The 41-year-old actor rushed to be a guest driver at the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race, according to
RadarOnline, on very little sleep.
Before the race, Moyer had reportedly been working on the set of HBO's 'True Blood' until 6 a.m. Friday, after which his only downtime was one hour of sleep that morning, plus a power nap around lunchtime Friday.
Moyer's crash occurred after a sharp bend when his car plowed into a tire barrier, rolling his car. The
Long Beach Press-Telegram reports that his vehicle did a 360-degree flip before landing back on its tires. Moyer walked away, uninjured, and even gave a thumbs-up to the crowd.
He later told the press, "I want to apologize to the rest of the drivers for ruining everyone's qualifying session."
Despite his harrowing mishap, Moyer still nabbed the No. 1 qualifying time for Saturday's race.
The event is part of the annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. Other famous faces strapping on helmets to compete this weekend include Frankie Muniz, Kevin Jonas, Dijmon Hinsou, Jillian Barberie Reynolds, Brian Austin Green, Megyn Price and William Fitchner. Pro drivers will also race, starting at the back of the field, one minute behind the celebrity drivers.

Very lucky; a dangerous, but exciting endeavor. He's part of a long string of entertainment figures that have tried their hand at any sort of racing. From McQueen to Garner to Dempsey. But it is a form of sport that requires total dedication to really excel. If this is a 'one time' event and he enjoyed it [other then the crash], he might continue. But he's getting a bit olde to really get into it at any of the major venues. But, then again, better late then never, right?

Garner?!
Only did for the drops of blood.

Another twink actor who can't drive. They get chauffered all year to and fro the studio, then one day, they're in a race car. 'What's this wheel doing here? And what are these pedals?'

Exactly,Had he divulged his tiredness I doubt they would have let him go in. He could have killed another driver, typical selfish Hollyweirdo.
to 'mp': James Garner, after 'Grand Prix' tried his hand for a while; look at Newman; he did pretty well also.
