Nicolas Cage Sprung from New Orleans Jail Thanks to Dog the Bounty Hunter

In New Orleans, reality TV star Dog the Bounty Hunter bailed out an Oscar winner by posting a bond of $11,000 after Nicolas Cage's arrest.

Cage ended up behind bars Saturday for public drunkenness, disturbing the peace and domestic violence. The actor was allegedly having a dispute with third wife Alice Kim at the time of his arrest, and sources say the couple were outdoors disagreeing over which rental property entrance was theirs.

In a statement, E! quotes the bounty hunter (a.k.a. Duane Chapman): "Media from around the world have been requesting interviews with me today after reports surfaced about my posting a bond for actor Nicolas Cage in New Orleans....I am a truly dedicated fan of Mr. Cage and will not be granting any interviews about my client as I wish to respect his privacy. I performed my duties as a bail bondsman and not in connection with our show."

He added, "This is what I do for a living. There are two sides of my job: I release my clients after they have been arrested; and pick them up if they don't show up in court. I do not believe the latter will be the case for Mr. Cage."

Dog's wife, Beth Chapman, tweeted on Saturday: "My guy just walked out of the jail," she said. "Damn new Orleans 8 hours holy cow that's a lot of time to Process one guy." Earlier, she posted a tweet hinting about the Chapmans' famous client: "Up and down all night working on a bond in New Orleans good thing I like You dude !"

Lindsey Lohan, Charlie Sheen, Nicolas Cage....I'm tired of hearing about idiot actors getting in trouble with the law and self-destructing in public. We should watch them on screen doing their job. The rest of the time we should pay no attention to anything they do.

I am a fan of Dog and Beth but wish they were not continuing to keep getting more animals!!! They have no time for any of them. Poor Ozzie the macaw sits in his cage (prison) all day, never gets out, seems to get little attention. I wonder if they have bothered to research his diet and social needs. Too many birds, dogs, rabbits, a boar etc.Eeverytime a kid wants a new pet they get it. It is impossible to properly care for and give rime to so many animals with what they do. I will take Ozzie in my parrot rescue center if they will release him. Here he will get sunlight, other macaws to be friends with, baths a a large varied diet and he can fly. I'd of left him in there until his trial and then persuade the judge to lock him up in a mental institution for future evaluation of his obvious mental deficiencies, unless of course, Dog is looking for another approach to his own show.
