What's With Nicolas Cage and His Quirky Love Life?

Nicolas Cage's arrest for domestic violence and disturbing the peace early Saturday morning is not the first time the Oscar-winning actor has made headlines for his personal life. Cage, who has starred in huge mainstream hits like 'Con Air' and quirkier fare like 'Adaptation,' has been married three times and has a grown son with an ex-girlfriend.

His first marriage was to Patricia Arquette. The genesis of their relationship is the stuff of tabloid heaven. Legend has it that when the pair first met, the instantly besotted Cage declared his love and intention to marry her.

The amused Arquette gave Cage a list of objects to obtain in order to prove his love, which apparently included a black orchid (they don't exist) and reclusive author J.D. Salinger's autograph. The two parted but reconnected in 1995 and apparently this time it was Arquette who proposed marriage by appearing at Cage's doorstep dressed head to toe in black vinyl carrying a large purple wedding cake.

They divorced six years later, but the odd thing is that in Cage's divorce petition it stated that the couple separated only nine months after they wed.

Cage, who won teen girls hearts with 'Valley Girl' in 1984, then immediately went on to marry rock and roll royalty: Lisa Marie Presley. They had an unusual courtship and marriage, to say the least. The pair often argued and after a stormy altercation aboard Cage's yacht, Lisa Marie reportedly tossed her $65,000 engagement ring overboard. Divers were dispatched, but the rock was never recovered.

Still, in August 2002 the pair wed in a secret wedding in Hawaii. A blissful 107 days later, they separated and eventually (meaning a length of time much longer than their actual marriage) divorced

In an unusually frank and honest statement, Lisa Marie said, "I'm sad about this but we shouldn't have married in the first place. It was a big mistake."

Cage met his current wife, Alice Kim, in February 2004 when she was a 20-year-old waitress at Le Prive restaurant in Los Angeles. The pair were engaged two months later and wed that July. Their son Kal-el was born that October. His unusual name comes from Cage's love of Superman.

Kal-el isn't Cage's only offspring, though. He has a 20-year-old son, Weston, with ex-girlfriend Christina Fulton.

He was hot in Valley Girl!?!?!?! Really? That's funny. To me he looks exactly the same just 30 years older. It's not a crime to get older. He's an odd bird, too but that's not a crime either.

He did have a nice body. Not sure if he still has it. He was all covered up in the Sorcerer's Apprentice.

Would love to know where the outrage is for Cage like it was for Mel Gibson? The media ripped Gibson apart, yet hardly a footnote like the coverage Gibson got? Talk about a bunch of hypocrites the media happen to be, lets see, Cage has been married three times, spent more money than he has, blamed his accountant on his money problems when the accountant said Cage spent money any way, drinks like a fish, and clearly has NO respect for the mother of his child, or for women anyway, and the media hasn't bashed him like they did Gibson? Sorrty, as much as I like Cage and his movies, his choices in life are as spend happy as his spending habits..As a women I am outraged at the double standard the media has played in in this...

This is not the same thing as Mel Gibson. He hasn't hit anyone. He allegedly grabbed her. She grabbed him in the tattoo parlor video. What's the difference?

Were you as outraged when Charlie Sheen beat all the women because no one else seems to be. Which is very sad.

I'm not saying Nick Cage is a great guy. He's not. He obviously has issues but he's not at the level of those two at least not yet. Hopefully, someone will step in and help him before it gets that bad (if it does).

is there a law that says how often you are allowed to get married.?? and just because he got arrested for domestic violence dose not mean he is the one to blame, men always get the raw end of the deal when there is a domestic situation. you women sound pathetic!

It would be hard to marry him if he asked me. He hasn't gotten rid of the last one yet and I don't/won't work at La Prive.

I have no idea what Nick Cage thinks of women, overall but you obviously have a bigger issue with us than he does. He has a long string of broken relationships. He has a history of volatile behavior (most of it NOT involving women).

Alice is very average looking Asian girl, no beauty at all. It is too bad, Cage never met beautiful Asian Women in his life. He hang around in LA Korean town bar and restuarants and there were no Asian Beauty there. All Korean women use too much make-up and plastic surgery I guess he was lonely at that time, so he married Alice Kim. I don't think they are soulmates, they maybe sex partners.

The real beautiful Asian Women are from China. They are gorgeous. I dated with a few Chinese girls, they are so beautiful and sexy.

He looks fine. There was some makeup artist & hair dresser working on all of the movie star during the past 5 or 6 years who was making them all look like death warmed over, for some screwed up reason. Other male actors who have looked oddly made up were Tom Hanks, Paul Reiser, Patrick Swazy & I am sure I missed some. But their hair seemed like it had bad permed & was then dyed black & their makeup seemed pasty & dead looking. I was wondering why they were not getting rid of whoever it was that was doing the makeup on them.
