'Idol' Castoff Pia Toscano Dumped Boyfriend for Mark Ballas

'American Idol' castoff Pia Toscano has reportedly dumped her long-term boyfriend to go out with 'Dancing With The Stars' pro Mark Ballas.

The New York Post is reporting that Toscano didn't bother breaking up with Carlos Nunez, her boyfriend of four years, before she went on a date with Ballas.

A mutual friend of the couple said, "It seems inevitable to anyone with eyes. They hadn't spoken as often as you'd think once she made the final 12. She kind of played a disappearing act."

The friend said they knew the relationship was on the rocks when Nunez flew to Los Angeles to see Toscano's first 'Idol' performance on TV but she could only find a "couple of hours" to be with him.

Nunez was with Toscano's family the day the 22-year-old singer was surprisingly eliminated from the competition and even comforted her weeping family as they watched the telecast.

On the other hand, Toscano and Ballas were seen on a dinner date at a restaurant a day after her elimination.

Toscano reportedly "had a crush" on Ballas and she was positively "giddy" when she found out that 'Idol' and 'Dancing' were filming on adjacent soundstages at the CBS lot in Los Angeles and managed to get in touch with the dancer through mutual friends.

Toscano was on 'Ellen' last week, where she was asked about Ballas. The singer was evasive and said, "I just met [Ballas] ... he's a very sweet guy ... we're just friends."

PEOPLE is also reporting that when asked about Toscano, Ballas called her "a really beautiful girl," adding, "she's really cool."

And when asked if the two were dating, Ballas remained coy and said, "It is what it is. I'm having a great time. I have no complaints right now."

With Pia's looks and body why would she go for a butt ugly goofy
guy like Balas He couldn't make out in a "cat" house
Plus he is not any where near the best dancer on the show.
He is more of a clown She has a future..nto sure how much but
shw will. He will be working in a car wash

I feel that she is very pretty and has a great voice, but what is missing is an interesting pressence. I think she just lacks charisma and that is really why she got voted off. She is lacking that certain something that would make her a "star". I say she should save her money from the tour and study what has happened to the other AI final ten from the past ten years and see how many have no real careers. Only a very few have had great entertainment careers.

So she let her sudden fame go to her head. She's star-struck. Well she'll have fun for awhile; she may even churn out a quickie cd, but if she steps on enough people while she's having that fun, and/or her cd isn't very good, she'll fall off the radar into the has-been (or never really was) pile along with Taylor Hicks, David Archuleta, Kris Allen and all the rest of the Idol nobodys real quick.

If she did not really love or wanted to be her boyfriend, at least she followed her heart.

The truth hurts but she could not ignore it. If she wants to be with Mark Ballas, she is not wrong for how she feels.

She did the right thing by letting her boyfriend know about her feelings for someone else.

At first I thought she sounded cold, but then I read on that she's only 22! Do you really expect her to marry the guy she was dating at 18? This happens all the time. I'm not a fan of Pia, but this is a pretty stupid story.

Yes, it's already gone to her swelled head. She think's she's God's gift of women, and she probably told her ex see ya later chump, and doesn't care about his feelings as long as she gets what she wants. Never liked her from the start. That's just my opinion, and I'm not envious of her looks whats so ever. I am happy with myself and what I have. Her type will never be satified or happy.
