'Idol' Castoff Pia Toscano Dumped Boyfriend for Mark Ballas

'American Idol' castoff Pia Toscano has reportedly dumped her long-term boyfriend to go out with 'Dancing With The Stars' pro Mark Ballas.

The New York Post is reporting that Toscano didn't bother breaking up with Carlos Nunez, her boyfriend of four years, before she went on a date with Ballas.

A mutual friend of the couple said, "It seems inevitable to anyone with eyes. They hadn't spoken as often as you'd think once she made the final 12. She kind of played a disappearing act."

The friend said they knew the relationship was on the rocks when Nunez flew to Los Angeles to see Toscano's first 'Idol' performance on TV but she could only find a "couple of hours" to be with him.

Nunez was with Toscano's family the day the 22-year-old singer was surprisingly eliminated from the competition and even comforted her weeping family as they watched the telecast.

On the other hand, Toscano and Ballas were seen on a dinner date at a restaurant a day after her elimination.

Toscano reportedly "had a crush" on Ballas and she was positively "giddy" when she found out that 'Idol' and 'Dancing' were filming on adjacent soundstages at the CBS lot in Los Angeles and managed to get in touch with the dancer through mutual friends.

Toscano was on 'Ellen' last week, where she was asked about Ballas. The singer was evasive and said, "I just met [Ballas] ... he's a very sweet guy ... we're just friends."

PEOPLE is also reporting that when asked about Toscano, Ballas called her "a really beautiful girl," adding, "she's really cool."

And when asked if the two were dating, Ballas remained coy and said, "It is what it is. I'm having a great time. I have no complaints right now."

Hope the guy moves on, and once she is dumped by her new beau, she will learn her lesson, and remember what she once had. She didn't win idol... so I guess creepy behavior is better then winning awards on merit.

Look Veronica, you can see the writing on the wall once she got on this show. You could see it in her face when she got voted off. She looked like "me", I can't believe it. I'm the best and I'm beautiful and how dare they vote me off. She's as vain as can be.

Unfortunately the stupid press is wrong as usual. Pia and her boyfriend broke up long before she was even on Idol. Someday the stupid press will stop catering to stupid people who need to get lives.

If I might ask Bob,how do you know she broke up with her boyfriend, and this story dosen't have a word of truth to it. Just askin?

I am glad she got the boot. I never thought she was as good as everyone else thought..kind of a one trick family..with all of her songs sounding alike...I hope her old boyfriend realizes that he is better off without the loser!!!!

Mark Ballas travels worldwide, champion dancer, cool enough looking to get any lady he wants, yet you think Pia is USING HIM?
Both people, Mark and Pia dont need to use anyone for anything!

Nothing wrong with being a cheap little opportunistic HO in this day and age. If there is one thing she's learned, it's how to turn your 15 minutes of fame into maybe, a few million dollars to last her for life.

She won't do it recording albums....she's a voice, NOT an entertainer!
