Hoover Pulls Ads From ABC Following Soap Cancellations

Hoover knows a thing or two about things that suck, and it's firmly placing that label on ABC's recent decision to cancel 'All My Children' and 'One Life to Live.'
According to
The Hollywood Reporter, the company is pulling all ads from the network in protest of their decision to axe the long-running soaps.
Hoover marketing exec Brian Kirkendall explained on the company's
Facebook page, "I want you to know from me personally that we hear you loud and clear. My wife and mother are both passionate viewers of 'All My Children' and 'One Life to Live,' as are many of my colleagues here at Hoover. ... We will discontinue our advertising with ABC this Friday, 4/22. We're making every attempt to pull our spots from these programs sooner."
Hoover has also created the email address SaveTheSoaps@hoover.com, where fans of the shows can lend their support to Hoover's mission.
"We're 150 percent committed to doing what matters most to you – so if there's anything else we can do to help or you have any ideas, please email this address, and we will respond to you personally," wrote Kirkendall. "Thank you for standing up for what matters to you! We need more of that in this world."
Thousands of fans have flooded Hoover's Facebook page in response to of their efforts.

I hope ALL advertisers boycott ABC, they made such a HUGE mistake canceling these two fabulous shows. Get the word out to ALL of them. Has anyone noticed that the rating for last nights DWTS was down by alot and so was Cougar Town(which sucks by the way).
BOYCOTT ALL ABC SHOWS. SUPPORT ALL MY CHILDREN AND ONE LIFE TO LIVE.

HOORAY FOR HOOVER!!!! The only way to get ABC's attention is to hit them where they will pay attention-in the wallet!!!! I say let all the sponsors know you will not buy their product if they advertise with ABC in those time slots.

There ya go. Unemployment. Good point. Great issue. So why doesn't Hoover hire them then. They are obviously doing so well they don't need to advertise. Now there is a way to make a stand Hoover. Hire those who lost their jobs!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well ABC what do you think of that? I hope as well that many other sponsors cancel. You know too many talk shows and reality shows are just like a town with nothing but hamburger joints. Open you eyes and look at this picture!!!

Hoover will soon be gone jsut like these soaps...I mean besides the 60 - 80 year old ladies watching this crap who has carpeting anymore? It's totally GROSS!!!!! have either tile or wood floors....!!!!!

I have carpet. I also as a 50 year old successful business woman with a family have buying power. I also tape and watch ABC soaps daily.
Speak with knowledge, it goes furthe. Hoover? BRAVO!

You know you can vacuum hardwood floors the same as you can carpet, right? Gets them much cleaner than a broom. And since I need a new vacuum, guess which brand I'm gonna buy? The same brand that just stood up against the cancellation of the Soaps I've been watching since I was a kid.
Someone said Soaps are for old ladies (by the grace of God you'll make it to old age one day, buster). I'm 36 and a successful romance writer. What do you think kindled my love of romance? All those years of watching Bo and Nora, Angie and Jessie, Greg and Jenny, Blair and Todd...not much creative inspiration in yet another talk show.

Bravo Hoover! And to Terry, I have hard wood as well as carpeted floors and use my vacuum on both areas. I hope others pull their ads and curb their viewership of ABC as well. What a ridiculous PR move to cancel both on the same day. They should be boycotted for shear stupidity.

Hoover - too much too little too late. You only cared now that it is about your family. Where were you when CBS axed As The World Turns and Guiding Light? I don't care about your family and their soaps interests since you did not care about mine and that of many others. Hoover is a women's product generally speaking and I don't care about your product any more.
