Production hasn't even begun and the Gotti biopic has faced a series of hurdles. Director Nick Cassavetes has backed out of the project, critics are blasting the film for portraying mob boss John Gotti Sr. (to be played by John Travolta) in a positive light and then there is the matter of Lindsay Lohan, who is going to cost them an arm and a leg to insure.Lindsay is rumored to be joining the cast as a young Victoria Gotti. If her recent hair transformation is any indication, Lohan has already gone full method on the role. Lohan is great to garner buzz for a project -- we wouldn't even know a Linda Lovelace biopic was in the works, had Lohan not been attached to the film this time last year -- but actually having her in a movie is an entirely different and expensive prospect. The troubled starlet is going to be a monster to insure. To be hired again, she would need to post her salary as bond, or pay for her own insurance.
Insurance policies are completely subjective. They work by establishing the value of a celebrity to a project, estimating how that will be diminished if the celebrity cannot perform and taking out a policy against that circumstance. The premium paid depends on the celebrity's worth and the risk. Lohan's worth has decreased significantly, but her risk is high. Industry insiders estimate to PopEater that the mob flick would be out $10 million if Lohan needed to be replaced and the liklihood of that happening is high. So her policy would cost between $1 million and $2 million.
It is doable, sure, but worth it?
Maybe not. Lohan has proved time and again that she can't be counted on for long term projects. Every time she commits to something, she is either A) Unable to complete it or B) So spotty with her attendance that the producers wish she hadn't signed on in the first place.

Why can't Lindsay take the part and pay for the insurance herself just like Robert Downey Jr. He proved he was worth future projects by paying his own insurance. Lindsay if you want to be an actor then step up to the plate and pay your dues to reestablish yourself. Lindsay is acting like she is above all the real talented actors and her off time is her own problem, well Lindsay wake up and grow up.
If they can afford Travolta, they can afford Lohan.

lindsay lohan is a waste of time, a has been, her and her family has had way more than thier 10 minutes of fame, what a bunch of LOSERS, she is only going to buy drugs anyway, she is a waste of the air we breath.

Why would anyone want anything to do with Lindsay the Loser?? Whoever said she could act??

If, some how, she avoids jail, she would screw up these movies. She is a has been, and anyone who would take a chance with her, better think twice, and the movie would flop because of her in the movie. No one trusts her anymore, with good reason.

Anybody who is willing to take a chance on Lindsay is doing just that: taking a chance. She's probably all the publicity that any project needs, but even so, if it were my project, I wouldn't take the chance. Forget the astronomical insurance risk; she's a trouble magnet. She isn't reliable. I wouldn't want to run the risk of getting even as far as a table read, then have to replace her because she had to go to jail for something or other. No thanks.

Lindsay can act and had the talent . What goes on in her personal life or family life is none of anyone's business . She is an actress and does her job well . Who is anyone to judge her .
It is Amazing that some feel they have lived a perfect no mistake life .
Cheering Lindsay on . Lindsay You Rock !

Are you kidding. Georgia Rule and Herbie movies both times Lindsay held up production and then refused to promote the movies. Lindsay never cared working with Jane Fonda which was stupid, Lindsay did nothing but cause havoc on the set by not showing up on time nor remembering her lines as she was always out the night before. Lindsay's personal life intervered with her job. If Lindsay wants to work pay the Insurance premium like Robert Downey Jr and try to earn the respect of hollywood again.
The only movie I've seen LL in is 'Machete', enough said.

I cannot imagine why any producer or director would want to work with Lindsey Lohan....she's a loser.

The way she looks in the picture that goes along with this article she needs to be signed to play old Victoria Gotti. God, for her age she is looking like a dried up rag. Get some sleep Lohan. And moisturize that face. Geeze you should look youthful.

Boycott anything she does, lets send her back to reality.

They can put her in all the movies they want, I will never waste my time or money to see any of them. If these producers want to p!ss away their money on a no-talent, drunken, thieving skank ho-bag that's their business--but they're wasting their money and time on that has-been.

Who'd waste 10.00 to go to the movies to see such a wasted person? Lots of other starletts that would be good in a movie and worth the time to watch her.

Well I believe she can change, and anyways what do any of you care if the producer wants to take a chance on Lindsay? It's not gonna cost you any money, it's Fiorre's film, he should be able to cast whoever the hell he wants. Also NONE of you can predict the future and you have no idea what will happen with Lindsay, you don't know if she'll screw up or not, so until she's actually cast and the grand theft case is resolved, I think we should all reserve judgement for the time being. Considering that Lindsay has grown up with Gotti family, she's be perfect as Victoria, nobody else would be able to play her as convincgly as Lindsay could.
P.S. That "good friday" thing was just a another stupid rumor, the hearing isn't being post-poned

Just another hatchet job by Ms. Piazza. Take it with a grain of salt.

A bigger question is why do you care? Oh, wait, it's a weak attempt to prevent her from getting the role. Like who even really cares what she does with professional life? job? Outside whether or not she gets the role, people shouldn't be THAT interested. I don't even care about the film. What a boring write up this is. What's next? A discussion about what under arm deodorant she used last week?

They can't afford her because she wants more lines (of coke).
