'Boardwalk Empire' Star Paz de la Huerta Charged With Assault

Paz de la Huerta headed to an NYC court today and was hit with five misdemeanor charges, according to TMZ, including attempted assault, harassment, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and dual counts of third-degree assault.

The 26-year-old 'Boardwalk Empire' star attacked Samantha Swetra, star of MTV's 'The City,' at a New York party in March. The judge granted Swetra a restraining order from de la Huerta.

"Prosecutors told the judge Paz trashed Samantha during her stint in the police station on the night of the incident ... saying, 'I'm a REAL actress -- HBO! She's a publicity seeker, a FAKE actress,'" TMZ reports.

The incident that landed de la Huerta in jail involved Paz throwing a glass at Samantha and punching her in the face. Pieces of the glass, which shattered, became embedded in Swetra's leg. Lindsay Lohan, who was reportedly on scene, aided Swetra while de la Huerta was led out by hotel security.

I saw Boardwalk Empire from start to finish. I thought it was great. Paz had a juicy role and I thought "Only someone who is that looney could play that role that well". As it turns out, I was right. Her antics reflect the role she played. It's too bad that the role wasn't enlarged, she nailed it.
