Simon Cowell: Mariah Carey to Take Part in 'X Factor'

Simon Cowell confirmed that Mariah Carey will take part in the American version of 'X Factor' this fall -- but won't be sitting at the judge's table.

UsMagazine.com reports that Cowell dished on his new, already-buzzed-about show in a Spokane, Wash., radio interview on 92.9ZZU.

"I think Mariah will have a role on the live shows," Cowell told radio host Jackie Brown. "I met her recently and she was on great form."

Carey will have her hands full in just a month when she gives birth to twins, making her unable to join Cowell and L.A. Reid as a judge in September. However, Cowell insists the singer will still have a part in 'X Factor.'

"Her idea was to be the judge of the judges, which only Mariah could come up with," Cowell said. "She'll be involved in some form. I literally adore her. I love her to bits."

There's no word on who will fill the third judging seat when 'X Factor' premieres, and for now Cowell is focusing on live auditions. He recently announced he was leaving the British 'X Factor' in order to concentrate on the American show.

The winner of 'X Factor' will receive a $5 million recording contract from Cowell's Syco/SonyMusic label.

Hope Simon does not put her in the judges chair,there is just something about Mariah that I do not care for. Even when at times Paula acted drunk or on drugs, she was a real trooper and fun to listen to. She and Simon were a real team and entertaining to all. They actually made the show enjoyable , when the talent was questionable.

Great Great Pick Simon. Mariah has Real Talent. People just don't like her cause she seems stuck up and full of herself by not speaking out much on her personal life. Well in the Entertainment Business if you want to be in it for the long run you have to be careful on any information you give. She may not be conservative on the outer appearance but look at her, SHE STILL HAS A STRONG SUCCESSFUL CAREER, NOT like alot of Starlets that started young and career died YOUNG!

Now I understand why Simon ditched his British show. He probably missed America, the craziness, and of course, Paula Abdul.

I do not blame him one bit.
