Chris Martin Hates Gwyneth Paltrow's Pretentious Dinner Parties

On a recent evening in New York, a group of FFOGs (Famous Friends of Gwyneth) turned out for a dinner party to celebrate the actress, singer and blogger's debut cookbook, 'My Father's Daughter.' New Yorker scribe Lizzie Widdicombe was there to rub shoulders with guests like Jay-Z, Cameron Diaz, Alex Rodriguez and the Seinfelds and to document exactly how Gwyneth is not just like us.

It is first worth noting that Paltrow's husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, was not nearly as psyched as the other guests to sample his wife's duck ragout. According to the New Yorker write-up, Martin arrived cranky and a publicist warned, "he doesn't want to talk."

It's a little odd when your hubby doesn't want to talk at a party promoting your project, no?

Thankfully for Gwyneth, everybody else wanted to talk.

Jessica Seinfeld reminded the crowd how lucky they were to be invited.

"You are all so lucky to be part of Gwyneth's world," Seinfeld said to the guests. "Because this is the real deal. And she's invited all of you good people in here. I would never do that."

Christy Turlington revealed that Gwyneth is a whiz when it comes to killing lobsters.

"It's not the boiling-in-the-pot-and-screaming lobster thing. It's a different, faster approach. I could never do it," Turlington said about how Paltrow prepares them for the boil. "You stick a knife through the head," said Turlington, who seemed suddenly troubled. "Oh! That's awful to say."

Michael Stipe was happy to rib Gwyneth for a cooking faux pas. "Once, a duck she was cooking caught fire, and she threw it in the pool."

Still, amidst all the laughter, we picture Martin stewing the corner, displeased at having to make small talk with Martha Stewart and Mario Batali about canapes again.

Gwyneth is a Hollywood snob. She tries to act like she's so down-to-earth, but she's full of herself just like most of them. And, stabbing a lobster in the head is something to be proud of?? Yes...she's such a sensitive, selfless soul, isn't she? Not. I wouldn't buy her cookbook for anything. She needs to stick to acting...she is good at that, but again...a totally spoiled,child of wealth and fame. Ugh...these people....! Yuck.

He is SOOOO Jealous..Gwyneth is so beautiful, happy, and has great friends and kids...she loves to be close to them and cook for them...they love her....and are so grateful....he is ....grumpy....

You can tell she is definitely pretentious! She is successful and that is to her credit (having parents in the business didn't hurt) but the snooty does not endear ANYONE but other snooties like herself. They are called the self-absorbed. Look at me! Look at me! I can act, Cook, sing, married to a rock star, incredible body, (I am starving by the way), and I named my kids the most awful names I could! I AM A STAR! YEAH FOR ME!

It won't last, he obviously is sick of her snooty ways and all her running around, does she ever spend anytime with her children, he's probably sick of it and she already stated she hates living in England so it probably won't last.!

He should of at least said hello to her guests and then did his own thing. He sounds very selfish to me and it sounds like he doesn't want her to have any attention when he is there. I am surprised to see this marriage has lasted this long. But the more she gets involved with other things the more she will realize she can do without him!
