Actress Halle Berry has never talked about her custody battle with ex Gabriel Aubry before, but in an interview with 'Extra,' the 43-year-old actress finally opened up and talked about the court proceedings without giving exact details."It's been a year full of challenges. When there's a child involved, it's a relief when you can resolve things in a good way," Berry said. "Our issues were never about fighting for her. We both know a child needs both her parents."
She continued, "But what I want to say about it is sometimes, as a couple, you reach an impasse. We need a court and a judge to help us work out some of the delicate issues, and I'm so happy we've arrived at that place -- because for her sake, this is the best way. We both love her more than life."
The Oscar winner has been in a long and at times contentious custody battle with French-Canadian model Aubry, the father of their 3-year-old daughter, Nahla. The couple split in April 2010.

I think that Gabriel Aubry is jealous that Halle broke up with him and is now going out with Olivier Martinez. So he is creating all these custody issues or whatever he wants to give Halle grief. The little girl should be with her mother. Halle risked her life to have this child as she has diabetes and it is dangerous to have children with diabetes.

That little girl looks very much like her father. Many of the pictures the media shows does not do her justice.

I agree, Renee. She does have her father's facial features. Most girls inherit their father's features, and most boys resemble their mothers, I've found.

Wise up Americans; write, call or do whatever it takes to let your representatives in Washington know you want to cut out the billions of dollars we throw away every year aiding foreign entities. Thus the court battle!
To say the child should be with the mother or the father is just wrong. The child needs parenting for both ends. If it truely is for the sake of the child then the child should be involved with both parents. So many children have only one parent and feels cheated. Why fight when they both want to be around their own child. Halle should keep her childs business out of the media, it just makes her look bad and attention hungry. This is the worst thing for the child's problems to be publicly announced by the mother for anyone and everyone to read about. Makes her look bad and like the best interests isn't with the child. She's dumb and that's why everyone leaves her. Looks are only skin deep. I used to like her too.
