Simon van Kempen Is 'Real'! 'Housewives' Husband Drops New Single

We have another singing 'Housewife' on our hands, and this time it's a man! Joining Countess LuAnn, Danielle Staub and Kim Zolciak in the Bravo choir, 'Real Housewives of New York City' star Simon van Kempen has gleefully unleashed his debut single, 'I Am Real,' a bass-thumping, synth-heavy dance track filled with defiant lyrics aimed at "cheeky tongue waggers."

"I thought 'I Am Real' is a fun song with lyrics that suit me to a 'T,'" Simon tells me in an exclusive interview. "It's cheeky and catchy and captures my four years on reality TV."

I agree! It's pure fun and the lyrics are a riot, especially, "Gold and diamonds glitter. But the taste is slightly bitter. When wives attack behind my back, they trash me on the Twitter." Listen:

Why do you think this season's ratings have dipped?
They haven't really dropped or at least not substantially. While total viewership for Episode 1 was down 3.68% versus Season 3's premiere and the 2nd was down 6.0% they are holding their own in the key 19-49 demo when compared with last season.

Who on the cast is overexposed?
Honestly, it changes week by week. Sonja probably grabbed that accolade for the second episode but I am sure most of the cast will experience it throughout the season.

I think it is not to bad of a song and Simon, unlike the other house ho's, can sing. It is simple in nature, but you could dance to it. Luann and more of a man's voice, but she, Kim and Danielle are tone deaf.

Oh my - I forgot about that trainwreck Danielle's attempt to sing. That was horrible...

Surprisingly, I enjoyed this song! Like someone else already said - this is the best of the bunch, next to Kandi, who definitely has a great voice. LuAnn and Kim need to go back to taking lessons!

God, Luanne's is awful. She sounds like she chose the 'Drag Queen/ Celine Dion Rip off' autotune for her song. And Simon's is pretty heavy on the autotune as well, but it isn't as bad, even though I cannot stand him as a person.

Way to go Simon!! I like it, you can actually carry a tune. Offer singing lessons to LuAnn, Kim and Danielle. Especially tone deaf LuAnn, her tone and pitch are terrible. You can explain to her that money doesn't buy you talent, money doesn't buy you talent.
