Video: Did 'American Idol' Lose Another Fan Favorite?

Last week, Paul McDonald broke the streak of five consecutive girls sent home on 'American Idol.' With only two remaining in the Top Seven, Jennifer Lopez made no bones about not wanting to see a girl go home this week.

When the show brought out the eliminated contestants last week for an opening performance, the gender bias of the season was painfully obvious, as poor McDonald tried to keep up with the five girls on a girl-power song.

SPOILER ALERT! When Ryan Seacrest started whittling down the contestants, the favorites stayed out of the line of fire. Of the seven remaining contestants, only three of them have been in the Bottom Three before. And they made up the Bottom Three this week.

It was down to Jacob Lusk, Stefano Langone and Haley Reinhart, though Seacrest quickly sent her back to safety. In the end, after 52 million votes, Stefano Langone was the one who came up short, though he was smiling until the credits rolled.

When asked about what the show meant to him, Langone replied, "It started my career. That's something you can't put a price on. That's everything. So I'm just so blessed."

There are probably a huge amount of Idol haters who have formed some vigilante on line who vote for the worst every week. Either that or Americans are the dumbest forms of life on planet Earth.

Why would you say Stephano 'NEEDS' to go? He has the best male voice on the show...hands down. He went because he didn't have a gimmick like most of the others. They're bound to have another Taylor Hicks on their hands real soon.
BTW...the writer apparently forgot that not only was Casey in the bottom three, he would have been sent walking had they not saved him. What a lame move that was.

The people who vote for idol have no music concepts at all. If casey whatever doesnt win this year then its a lost season as he has the most talent since day one.

Idol is just a fiasco this year without Simon there to clue the viewers in on who is talented and who needs to go. The judges just praise everyone and never say 'that was truly awful' as is sometimes the case. It's just too annoying to watch those 3 judges say the same thing over and over again after each performance.

That was the result I wanted, so yeah the right one went home! It was between STEFANO, JACOB AND THE 2 GIRLS, AND SCOTTY TOO, YES. I like everyone left but somebody has to go. I am GLAD Casey is still there, after being ambivalent for a while that maybe they wasted their save on him. But anyway, STEFANO was top choice to go, cause he just didn't fit in with the remaining ones, the guys at least. Everybody else I would miss more. I admit the last 2 girls SHOULD go, after me grousing a couple weeks ago how they were losing the females, now I agree they are more unspectacular and don't stand out in your mind like the males. You forget them soon after they sit down. I STILL think they should lose the '12 males/females voted to 6 of each' thing for next year and return to the let WHOMEVER is the best into the final 24, but that said, I like the guys who were helped by this male affirmative action continuation. LOSE THE SAVE TOO, SIMON LOVED THE UNDESERVED GOODBYE. He said it made the show exciting, and I AGREE. Also, they just save boys, and it insults the contestant they DON'T save. Better to have NO chance to stay, cuz that is what the viewers wanted and it's as it should be.
