Denise Richards Unsure of Charlie Sheen's Sobriety

As if she doesn't have her hands full with her two young daughters and an estranged ex-husband turned warlock, Denise Richards is offering to take in Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller's two young boys.

Mueller recently headed back to rehab to deal with what Richards calls her "issues" and though she has nothing but support for the mother of two, she does not have the same kind words for Sheen.

"It's very sad for me to see him on this path," Richards told Bravo's Andy Cohen (via Entertainment Weekly). "I've heard he's chosen to use me in parts of his tour and that's hurtful, but that's his choice if he feels the need ... he can do whatever he wants with his show."

Although Richards will not waste her energy attempting to keep her name out of Sheen's nationwide 'Violent Torpedo of Truth' tour, she doesn't want her young daughters to become involved in their father's lifestyle.

"This is his lifestyle and I've accepted it. There's things that I don't think are appropriate for two young impressionable daughters."

But inappropriate seems like an understatement for the man who can't seem to get through an interview without referencing his goddess-fueled sex life or using every profanity known to man. Plus, Richards is unsure if Sheen is in fact sober: "I'm not with him ... I don't know if he's sober or not."

If this is Charlie Sheen sober I would not want to be around him when he is not. I take back everything I've ever said that was negative about Denise Richrds when they spilt I was sucked into Charlie's lies and misrepresentation of himself and took his side. I'm sorry for that.

I applaud Denise Richards for being an awesome mom and keeping her daughters away from their father's "lifestyle". The fact that he couldn't take care of two dogs should be a message to any judge in a custody hearing that he shouldn't be allowed near those little boys. IF Charlie Sheen is sober, then it's sadly obvious that he is mentally ill. Between his delusions of grandeur and his deep seated paranoia, I believe he is. If Charlie Sheen is back to his old tricks, he will never get help since he is getting huge amounts of attention, which only helps cement his belief that he doesn't have a problem.

I agree, Bob & Max are not her responsibility. I respect her concern for them but 4 kids under age 10 would be tough. Plus it seems the boys don't even know her. Being in her care might scare them.

Hear, hear! You are so right; she gained a lot of respect by keeping her own counsel, taking care of her kids, and not being drawn into the drama. Now she is offering to take care of children not her own, adopting a newborn (and waiting to do so until after custody was settled; understandable from a practical point of view, but how might it have affected the custody judge’s decision if known? the timing could be seen as calculating/manipulative). And supporting Brooke, the druggie? What is up with that? Are we seeing some bitterness that we did not suspect? That cannot help her daughters any.

I wonder how big that child support check will be.

Huh? He was cheating on her! She was the true victim especially that no one believed her accusations (including me) until he repeated the behaviors more openly AND AGAIN with Mueller. I think it's sweet of Richards willing to take in his two boys. I would do the same. The children are innocent and no less with two f'ed up parents.

Maybe he is dealing with lot of Heartache. I thought he had everything going his way until his wife left him for that other actresses hushand the band rocker.
What a kick to the curb that must have been and a lot of hurt to be left and then left for somebody else. he would not be the first person to drink himself to death or so other stupid thing because the women you love more then life itself has left you. It is very lonely when your wife leaves you and takes the kids and runs off with another man.

@ Glenn - what a ridiculous post. She didn't leave him for RIchie Sambora...they were already apart when that stupidity went on. Regardless, she is a good parent. As for CS, I for one cannot wait to hear about it when he finally chokes to death on is own vomit.

Its hard for me too feel sorry for a filthy rich, play boy at charlie's age. The guy has everything anyone could ever want for, and chooses to use drugs. I think its called being ignorant and selfish.
I dont wish death on anyone though, the man has kids.
I hope for his family, charlie sobers up.
Then thank Denise, for being the person she is, he owes her big time.
