Donald Trump Lashes Out at Jerry Seinfeld Over Charity Event

All is not well between
Donald Trump and J
erry Seinfeld. The comedian reportedly pulled out from an event appearance and Trump called him out in an open letter.
According to
Page Six, Seinfeld was scheduled to attend a Sept. 13 event for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Eric Trump Foundation. However, he has since canceled his appearance due to Trump's negative remarks about President Obama.
"I just learned you canceled a show for my son's charity," Trump wrote to Seinfeld, "because of the fact that I am being very aggressive with respect to President Obama, who is doing an absolutely terrible job as our leader."
Trump, who is considering a 2012 presidential run, didn't stop reprimanding the comedian there.
"We don't care that you broke your commitment," he continued, "even though the children of St. Jude are very disappointed, and despite the fact that your manager clearly stated you are 'truly a man of his word.'"
Adding insult to injury, Trump took a shot at Seinfeld's NBC show, 'The Marriage Ref,' which Trump appeared on last year.
"What I do feel badly about is that I agreed to do, and did, your failed show, 'The Marriage Ref,' even though I thought it was absolutely terrible," Trump wrote. "Despite its poor ratings, I didn't cancel on you like you canceled on my son and St. Jude. I only wish I did."
A rep for Seinfeld said he agreed to appear at the event before Trump began
questioning the authenticity of Obama's birth certificate. However, "Jerry has grown increasingly uncomfortable" with the 'Apprentice' head honcho.
"Jerry ... feels this kind of demagoguery has no place in public discourse," said the rep. "He has respectfully withdrawn from the event, and is making a contribution both to the Eric Trump Foundation and to [St. Jude]."
Former 'Apprentice' contestant
Bret Micheals is slated to fill Seinfeld's place, and the rocker released a statement to
Hollywood Life.
"Donald Trump and his family have been wonderful to me and St. Jude's Children's Hospital is one of my favorite charities, so I'm honored to have been asked by Eric and the rest of the Trump family to be a part of this event and help raise money for such an admirable cause," he said, adding a slight dig at Seinfeld. "We should never allow the spirit of generosity to be overshadowed by divisive political beliefs -- and when it comes to saving the life of a child, there is absolutely no room for political rhetoric."

This has to be the first "Bravo" in 15 years for Jerry. He owes you a thank you!
Good for Seinfeld...smart move.... Trump has no business bad mouthing our president. President Obama is moving and shaking as appropriately as he can against the republican nasties. Has everyone forgotten how bad a shape this country was in, under the demise of Bush? First hand... Buy Trump a Harley or a big SUV....maybe that will finally make him feel like a man..Get IT?
A small private part if you think about it!

J. Seinfeld is a simple no talent butt clown who got lucky because he had a great supporting cast. His parts of his show were justbplain bad. As a citizen of the USA, trump has not only the right but because of his stature the responsibility to question our leaders? What has Obama done? Slept with his wife in the Lincoln bedroom is going to be his legacy.
But it was alright when everyone was badmouthing President Bush, huh? Any citizen has the right to question the credentials of the man who is (ahem!) "leading" this country. Obama is the one making it a bigger issue than it is, why not just put an end to it once and for all? He has a very questionable past full of holes, so why doesn't he just produce it, with a notary present, and shut everyone up? I don't trust the man, and that's why I didn't vote for him....thank God. Personally, the jury's out concerning his birth certificate, but his past is what makes *me* question him. There's a lot of shady areas that don't add up. Jerry Seinfeld has always been a tool, and Donald should be relieved that he backed out. He did everyone a huge favor.
I've seen trumps member in restaurant bathroom. It is quite substantial.
Well said!!
Let me address a couple of issues.
By Gimme-A-BreakHighest - But it was alright when everyone was badmouthing President Bush, huh? Any citizen has the right to question the credentials of the man who is (ahem!) "leading" this country. Obama is the one making it a bigger issue than it is. IN RESPONSE. No, disrepecting the office is rarely OK. Bush and/or Obama. Questioning policies is a legit right and concern. Obama has done a great job of leading our country and having the courage to tackle some of the toughest issues. The nut case Birthers simply speak for themselves. Shallow people who don't want to focus on getting things done, just hammering away at the President. Whiner people.
As for the Donald and Jerry. Two good men. Trump shouldn't have made this a public feud. Jerry never should have canceled or when doing so made a substantial donation. Helping kids in need is a higher priority than over inflated egos battling it out for who can pxxx in the pot.
Please, Please this chicago hood has been in office 3 years and your still blaming bush. You probably forgot that the democratic congress (house as well as senate) were in charge of everything and now your blaming bush.
Give me a break, this is BS.
Stop spending money, and this so called genius is printing money like there is no tomorrow and is playing the race card every time he can.
I guess he wants to keep his 45 percent of people who do not pay anything to keep voting for him.
John, I'm not a fan of either man....Donald *or* Jerry - they both have their bad points. I think that Donald makes a lot of rash, spur-of-the-moment decisions -- acting in the moment without thinking things through. Jerry just has too many things about him to mention, that I personally dislike. I think both men are jerks, to be honest. Given his past, I am still in awe of Obama's ability to act as Pied Piper and even more amazed at the people who fall for it hook, line, and sinker without question. He has done nothing to earn my respect *or* trust. It was dirty dealings from day one -- look at what ACORN got away with. I feel like I'm the one in the crowd yelling that the Emperor has no clothing on, and no one else can see it. Everyone was so hell bent on getting Republicans out of office and being politically correct to prove that we aren't racist, that they ended up cutting off their nose to spite their face. The man is not trustworthy and doesn't have a clue about running this country. At this point, I don't care *WHO* is President, as long as they stop letting everyone else treat us as a doormat and start putting *our* people first. We need to fix America, she's broke both morally *and* financially. This country is in serious trouble....I don't care who started what, just FIX IT.
What do politics have to do with saving kids...and though he sent a donation, sounds like an after thought for damage control. Shame on your Jerry.
YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT BETTER MYSELF
Mr. Trump. I attended Jerry's show in Vegas. Be glad he cancelled, he is not only over the hill but almost at the bottom. He was not funny, he laughed more at himself than the audience did.

Kind of like that is all a person hears out of you...BLAH>>BLAH>>BLAH!!!!!
Seinfeld is shining a light on what is wrong with today's celebrities. It is not his political views that are important but the needs of St. Jude. Jerry doesn't have a problem taking the money from people who do not share his political views, but now uses a charity event to find his platform. We are more divided as a country now than ever before that charities are now thrown into the political mess! Shameful, Jerry!

En Al: you appear to have the Donald's smarts. Jerry respectfully pulled out and he made contributions to the Eric Trump Foundation (whatever that is) AND to St Jude's. Trump then started whining like a baby and calling names like a fourth - grader. Trump should wipe his snotty nose and get back to staying out of his third bankrupcy. Trump's moronic Birther remarks show he's no Prez material.
ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!
how dare trump question our God, oops I mean president. Look guys, I think the whole birther thing is stupid too, but it's even worse to pull out of a charity event because of it. Some liberals really are babies. You think The Sein would have pulled out if it was a republican getting "hammered". Nah.
